Summary
There’s a particular achievement that a lot of players of the survival horror hitPhasmophobiahave overlooked, and it turns out to be one of the easiest trophies one can earn in the game. Despite being over three years old, the game remains popular and shows no signs of stopping withconsole versions ofPhasmophobiastill on the way, albeit delayed.
Phasmophobiainnovated on the survival horror genre when it was released at the height of the pandemic in September 2020, making use of voice chat to influence events in each game session. It became really popular during the lockdowns because of Twitch and YouTube streamers who made it highly entertaining, contributing to record sales on Steam. WhilePhasmophobiais long past its glory days, it has still retained a loyal fanbase.
The Easiest Phasmophobia Achievement Few Have Gotten
Redditor Kiska_Hacker was browsing their Steam library when they were looking at thePhasmophobiapage and noticed the “No More Training Wheels” achievement. This achievement is given to new players who have completed the game’s tutorial, and they noticed that only 1.4% of players have earned what is technically the easiest achievement to get inPhasmophobia. With how few players have it, though, it’s also apparently the easiest to miss. Another Redditor observed that many veterans have been playing sincebefore there were achievements forPhasmophobia, and most of them seemingly weren’t concerned enough about racking up trophies to go back and play the tutorial.
Meanwhile, there’s still a chance for new players to get the trophy and bring that number up, as developer Kinetic Games continues to maintain the game years after it debuted, having justreleased aPhasmophobiaupdate in January 2024. The patch mainly changed graphics settings involving lighting, making for better visuals. There were also a number of small fixes and gameplay balance additions, showing that the team is mindful of players' experiences.
WhilePhasmophobiafans still have to wait a little longer for new content and the console port, there are other things to try. Horror gaming is hot as always, and those who are looking for similar scary titles may enjoyThe Outlast Trialswhen it releases on March 5. While it doesn’t quite sharePhasmophobia’s innovative voice-based gameplay and paranormal setting,The Outlast Trialsalso seems to have the similar eerie atmosphere and item-based gameplay that helped make the first game a hit, along with class-based characters that may appeal to fans of RPGs and team mechanics. The Outlast Trialsmight be the next big breakout hit for those who’ve missed the initial spark they felt when they first playedPhasmophobia.
