The originalAlan Waketitle captivated gamers with a trippy Stephen King-esque story and cinematic action-adventure gameplay.Alan Wake 2looks to go full survival horrorwhile hopefully maintaining the aspects of the first game that made it stand out. Early word of mouth from outlets who have gone hands-on with the game is positive, leaving fans even more excited about the franchise’s return after 13 years. Now, players want to know when they can get hands-on with the game themselves.
Remedy Entertainment shared a graphic on social media that details precisely whenAlan Wake 2will be playable around the world. Now, gamers know when they can expect to play one of thefall’s most anticipated games. In classicAlan Wakestyle, Remedy created the infographic to look like a case board with pins and strings connecting the various locations. What is even more helpful is that the image includes a dateline that separates those in North America who will be able to play the game on the eve of launch thanks to a midnight release on the East Coast.
Remedy has provided the exact release times for local timezones of nine major cities: Los Angeles, New York, Sao Paulo, London, Berlin, Helsinki, Tokyo, Sydney, and Auckland. From there, players should be able to calculate when they will be able to partake in theAlan Wake 2global launch. For those in North America, it looks like the East Coast will be able to start playing at midnight, while those on the West Coast can begin their horror-filled adventure at 9 PM local time. This, of course, means the game will be playable at 10 PM for those in the Mountain Time Zone, and gamers in Central Time can expect to start playing at 11 PM local time.
Alan Wakefans hope the series gets the recognition it deserves after the initialgame’s debut was overshadowed by a bigger release,Red Dead Redemption. Still, the thriller did enjoy some success as it won several “Game of the Year” awards and became a cult hit.
Again,Alan Wake 2previewshave been promising to say the least. Not to mention, the 13-year hiatus has allowed Remedy to potentially pick up some additional fans thanks to a spin-off and a remaster that admittedly didn’t sell quite as much as the developer hoped. Still, the sequel looks to finally get its moment in the sun when it launches just in time for Halloween.
Alan Wake2releases October 27 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
