There’s a location in Shar’s Gauntlet that’s not exactly hard to find, but most players will walk right past this small room and never notice it. It doesn’t have a special label or marking on the map, but this obscure location is where to get a temporary buff called The Nightsinger’s Favour. It’s an optional and temporarybut handy extra abilityinBG3that helps the character fight against the undead and Necromancers.
The Gauntlet of Shar
The Nightsinger’s Favour room isn’t locked and doesn’t even have a door, so entry isn’t an issue. Finding it is the more difficult part, and detailed directions are helpful. No matter what route players take, they should look for the rats, who tend to congregate in certain important spaces.
Remember thatShar loves Stealth and trickery, so it helps to have a character with a high Perception with good Sleight of Hand ability that can pick locks and disarm traps to get through this section of the Gauntlet.

The Nightsinger’s Favour
This ornate room is filled with broken ceramics and crumbling statues but is still richly adorned, despite its decripid state. A marble crypt is nestled in a chaotic heap of candles and offerings. There are several rats in this room, and ifShadowheart is in the party, she’ll comment on how even rats “have the good sense to worship Lady Shar.”
The player can interact with the crypt and trigger a short cinematic that ends with the option to either Leave or Pray. If they choose to Pray, they’ll be rewarded with theThe Nightsinger’s Favour, a buff that gives the characterResistance to Necrotic damageand lasts until the character’s next Long Rest.
Baldur’s Gate 3is available now on PC and PS5.
