Summary
After the sunsetting of Legendary Shards at therelease ofDestiny 2’s The Final Shape, players have become solely reliant on Glimmer as their main source of currency. Glimmer is essential to the in-game economy ofDestiny 2, and if players want to acquire an assortment of goods then they are going to need an abundance, with the cap being set at 500,000.
Luckily for players, there are quite a few ways in which players can acquire Glimmer inDestiny 2. Whilst some players might end up spending it too fast, it’s easy to get back, so players can look to a few tricks and activities that will see them overflowing with precious Glimmer.
7Use The Ultimate Glimmer Booster Mod On Ghost Shells
Earn 65% More Glimmer
When heading to the Guardian’s inventory, players can select their Ghost Shell to put on a few unique mods. In the third tab, and for 6 Energy, players can select the Ultimate Glimmer Booster, which will provide them with an increase in Glimmer gains by 65%. This makes it so that for every activity players run, they earn a large bundle of Glimmer as a bonus. This is always a passive way to earn Glimmer, even if it does cost quite a bit of Energy slotson the GhostShell. However, to those in desperate demand, this should be the first priority before jumping into other activities.
6Use Master Rahool’s Materials Exchange
Earn 10,000 Glimmer Per Material Exchange
Heading to the Tower, players can visit the iconic Master Rahool and head into his Materials Exchange tab. From here, players can select a few variations to receive Glimmer. Players can exchange certain materialsfound across the destinations ofDestiny 2, like Dark Fragments, Herealways Pieces, and Phantasmal Fragments to receive Glimmer. This is a cheap and fast way of getting 10,000 Glimmer per exchange to those with an excess of materials they don’t want.
5Farm Heroic Public Events
Earn Over 14,000 Glimmer Per Heroic Public Event
If players are actively farming for Glimmer, then they are going to want to head to any easy Destination like the EDZ and begin a hunt for Public Events. Opening the map, players can see when the next available Public Event is, and they can rush there and create a Heroic variant of the Public Event. Doing so will increase Glimmer drops from the encounter chest, allowing players to earn over 14,000 Glimmer per run of a Heroic Public Event. Whilst it might be a tad grindy, players will definitely earn a fair share of Glimmer from doing so.
4Progress The Season Pass
Collect Over 30,000 Glimmer Per Season Pass Page
Some players might not want to purchase the Season Pass for real-life money, but those that do can venture through the tiers, where almost every page has an abundance of Glimmer. Usually, each page holds 30,000 Glimmer or more, and there are some pages where those with the free version of the Season Pass can unlock Glimmer. Considering some veteran players might not have claimed all the glimmer from their Season Pass, they can log in to their Bungie account and select rewards from previous seasons to get easy Glimmer yet to be claimed.
3Dismantle Junk Gear
Ensure Inventory And Vault Space, As Well As A Source of Glimmer
Every veteran might have an overstuffed vault of loot, or receive a useless piece of armor or weapon from an activity. With that being the case, players should dismantle anything they do not use, or whatever is not a god roll, since dismantling armor and weapons will grant armor. Unfortunately, dismantling Sparrows,Shipsand Ghost Shells does not grant Glimmer anymore, but those who actively playDestiny 2should have an abundance of loot, and it’s always worth clearing out inventories and vaults to maintain a clean space and earn Glimmer.
2Exchange Strange Coins For Glimmer At Xur
Trade 22 Strange Coins A Week For 98,854 Glimmer
Xer has a permanent residence in the Tower, where once a week between Friday and Monday, players can head into his More Strange Offers tab toexchange Strange Coinsfor piles of Glimmer. It’s a quick one-time way to obtain Glimmer, and since players will have a stack of 99 Strange Coins from activities, they can spend 11 of them on 41,777 Glimmer and 57,077 Glimmer. Whilst this is only obtainable once a week and at a certain time, it’s still a great way to easily get over 90,000 Glimmer almost instantly, especially if players have Strange Coins but nothing to spend them on.
