Black Adam’splot is simple for a new DC movie but also complex at the same time. The titular hero was a champion of his people in Kahndaq thousands of years ago. After his victory, he was sealed away in a tomb to awaken whenever his people needed help again. After he awakens in the modern age of Kahndaq, wherein he sees his people seemingly enslaved by mercenaries, he goes on a rampage.

While some think this return is good, others, like the Justice Society, do not and go in to stop him. That is the basic setup forBlack Adam, but there is much more going on here. There are some key plot points left on the table, so let’s discuss them in thisspoiler-filleddebrief.
6Superman Vs Black Adam
This is perhaps the biggest question on the minds of fans who stayed for the mid-credits scene of the movie. Amanda Waller sends in a drone to warn Black Adam to keep his cool in Kahndaq. If he steps outside the city, she vows to send in someone to stop him. For some fans, that would have been enough, but the film went overboard on the fan service as Waller decided to show her cards right then and there.
Superman descends from the sky and tells Black Adam they need to talk. The next movie will either open with afight between Supermanand Black Adam, or perhaps they will discuss some Justice League shenanigans. The Rock has been teasing a fight between the two heroes leading up to the film’s release, but seemingly no one suspected Superman was going show up. So, what will happen next, and when?
5The Original Atom Smasher
Henry Winkler was a fun cameo in the movie who appeared briefly on his nephew’s phone. He used to be Atom Smasher years ago, which brings up many questions. When was the original Atom Smasher around? Was he a hero during World War 2, after, or before that?

Given the movie’s choice of actors, it would seem plausible that Winkler was around World War 2. DC could then make a movie around that time and place Atom Smasher in it. That time period has been on the thoughts of fans for a while, eversince Wonder Womanhelped out during World War 1. What happened with Hitler in this universe? Did anyone stop him, or did heroes leave him be? World history is always tricky in a comic book universe like this.
4Kahndaq’s Struggles
Eternium is a very valuable resource that seems on the level of Vibranium from the Marvel universe. The country of Kahndaq is similarlyset up to Wakanda, except that Kahndaq was enslaved for its resources while Wakanda was hidden away for quite some time. The question then is how long the country struggled with being invaded.
The movie sets up that this mercenary group is the newest set of dictators. How long have they been there for, and who, if anyone, came before? If this resource is so widely known, it would make sense that wars took place on Kahndaq’s soil for centuries. If heroes like Wonder Woman could hide in plain sight for centuries, then maybe Kahndaq did with its precious resource of Eternium too. Perhaps the mercenaries were the first group to discover the secrets that negate the question of who else was around. For now, the question remains a mystery.
3Why Was Hawkman So Angry?
Hawkman is awidely known heroin the DC universe. He’s new to this movie universe, though, and his backstory wasn’t explained in this film. For one, why was he so angry toward Black Adam? He could have peacefully talked things out with Black Adam instead of going in aggressively. What bright hero would poke a hornet’s nest like that, especially if those hornets were gods?
It is unknown right now if Hawkman will get a prequel film to explain his origins. It would be nice to see how he became so angry and unapologetic, which is not the demeanor of a hero. The same goes for the rest of the heroes in the movie that appear for the first time, including the aforementioned new Atom Smasher as well as Cycloneand Doctor Fate.
2Who Else Was In That Underwater Prison?
Eventually, Black Adam relinquishes his powers, transforming him back into a normal human. He is then sent to an underwater prison and is placed in a tank wherein he was supposed to sleep until the end of time. In this hall, there were over a dozen other tanks as well.

What other DC heroes and villains could be placed in such a high-tech security wing? Could there be villains from previous DCEU movies in there? There could be others that share the Shazam powers as well since presumably Black Adam, Shazam (Billy Batson),and his familyaren’t the only wizardly gifted meta-humans.
1Doctor Fate’s Helmet
Doctor Fate has some astounding powers that aren’t fully explained in the movie. This topic could spend time questioning his abilities, but it’s more interesting to wonder what became of his helmet. After Doctor Fate dies, his helmet remains.
This helmet deems Hawkman worthy of its gifts, bestowing the winged hero with a temporary boost in power. Why were these powers limited, though? Is the helmet destroyed for good now that Doctor Fate is dead, or will the helmet appear again and choose a new hero? The answer is in the comics, like many answers, but the movie universe is its own thing. So, who knowsif the DCEUwill even attempt to answer this question.
