A few months ago players were introduced toEramis, the Fallen Kell of Darkness, the empress of the Dark Fallen Empire on Europa.Beyond Lightwill take players to this huge moon and let them fight against the evil leader, who has gained the power of Stasis for her followers' power. Eramis' highest-ranking adherents are her lieutenants: Atraks, Kridis, Phylaks, and Praksis, who will serve as formidable opponents as they wield Stasis' power against the forces of good.

Players were also excited to hear about the return offan-favorite Variks, who was inDestiny 1and will be coming toDestiny 2: Beyond Lightafter emerging from a long self-imposed exile. Although he is fighting Eramis, he is not entirely trustworthy and won’t always make decisions that benefit the players in their fight. He doesn’t qualify strictly as either an ally or an enemy, but as someone who players will have to discover the true intentions of.

Other characters players will encounter inBeyond Lightinclude the Exo Stranger, who wishes to help the Guardians understand the power of Stasis; Eris Morn, who fights the Darkness; and the Han Solo-esque Drifter. It’s still unclear what these characters are doing onEuropa inBeyond Light, but they’ll surely have a major part to play in what will no doubt be a battle of epic proportions against the Fallen Kell of Darkness and her followers.

Destiny 2will focus a lot on Stasisand its freezing, ice-themed powers, and will introduce a new subclass tree to each of the three classes. Players will have to wait until November 10 to experience the full scope of Stasis' powers and the fight against Eramis inDestiny 2.

Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
