ACall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2player online has pointed out a seemingly obvious flaw with the game’s Prestige 17 icon. ThePrestige system inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2has seen some praise for the changes made to this iteration, but it seems that one mistake has gone under the radar.
Prestige Mode has been a constant in the series, first introduced inCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It allows gamers to reset their ranks and weapons in exchange for a cool new symbol next to their game. Other games in the franchise have introduced other individual rewards such as theCall of DutyPrestige Shop, but that has been the gist of the system over the years. In a way, it’s a massive part of the reasonCall of Dutyhas remained so popular over the years, as it allows gamers to still feel like they’re progressing in the game after hundreds or thousands of hours.

Redditor PartyRooster noticed the flaw, pointing out that the Prestige 17 symbol inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2has two right hands. Looking at it closely, they’re definitely correct, and once seen it can’t be unseen. Ultimately, it’s an innocent error that doesn’t affect gameplay in any meaningful way, so it’s nothing for gamers to get particularly angry or upset at. Despite this, it’s definitely unlikely to ever get fixed at this point.
What could upset some players in the community is how this reflects on the rest of the game. Many feel thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2suffered from an overall lack of attention to detail, with plenty missing that otherCall of Dutygames had included in the past. This can even be seen with the manyglitches found inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2by the community since its release last year. While in isolation, a symbol accidentally having two right hands isn’t a huge problem, there’s definitely an argument to be made that it says a lot about the overall level of polish.
