Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Changes

The notes from Ricochet Anti-Cheat acknowledged a recent surge in reports of cheating. It said that additional updates are undergoing testing, but as of February 21, limited-time perks such as Super Speed are temporarily disabled. Additionally, the team said it identified and banned over 6,000 accounts confirmed to be cheating or hacking between February 16 and 20, 2024.Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3cheating is a major concernamong players, with numerous actions by the Richochet Anti-Cheat team aimed at addressing the prevalence of hacks, cheats, and exploits.

Besides the Anti-Cheat update, the February 21 patch forModern Warfare 3andWarzoneincluded changes to various gameplay abilities. InWarzone, the size of the effective area forthe popular Advanced UAV abilitywas increased, putting the entire map in view for the player using it. Shock Sticks were also made into effective counters for more equipment-based Field Upgrades, increasing their utility. TheWarzonechanges also included adjustments to Skill Rating (SR) gain, changing who can receive Kill & Assist Credit when eliminating other players. The change was made to ensure the “competitive integrity” of Skill Rating gain and prevent players from inflating their SR gains by “tapping” downed enemies.

ForCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the February 21 patch focused mainly on bug and issue fixes affecting various game modes. These included a bug that caused players to be disarmed in Team Gun Game. Weapons like the MTZ-556 Assault Rifle, the Haymaker Shotgun, Longbow Sniper Rifle, and TYR Handgun all saw adjustments as well, potentially affecting players who enjoy those weapons.

Ricochet Anti-Cheat

The RICOCHET Anti-Cheat team has been tracking a spike in cheating reports within the community. We are currently in test for additional security updates; however, the following updates have just been deployed:

As part of ongoing security updates, a single telemetry system was taken offline for upgrades over the weekend. This action resulted in cheat developers claiming RICOCHET Anti-Cheat was offline. It was not. As a result of monitoring activity over the weekend and the purposeful reactivation of this upgraded system, #TeamRICOCHET was able to identify and ban over 6000 accounts for cheating and hacking from February 16 - February 20.

Our team continues to work on security updates for issues across various modes in Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare III.

These Attachments were not intended to be compatible with this Conversion Kit and were thus non-functional when equipped.

This change is being made to ensure the competitive integrity of Kill & Assist SR by removing the ability for players to “tap” downed enemies to overinflate their SR gains.

This change will also help streamline gameplay by preventing disruptions rooted in prolonging eliminations to “tap”.

With these changes and our increase to Squadmate Kill SR in Season 2, gameplay should feel just as rewarding and much smoother.
