Summary
ACall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3Zombies fan has come up with a nifty idea that would help players keep track of the status of their friendly Hellhounds. Having recently received its first Reloaded content boost for Season 1,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3has added a new MWZ Warlord boss, Dokkaebi, to challenge players who come to her fortress in search of great loot.
There’s a lot to do inModern Warfare 3’s vast MWZ Urzikstan mapother than surviving hordes of zombies. One activity that can prove quite beneficial is enlisting the help of a friendly Hellhound. To do this, players must keep an eye out for a somewhat rare “Chunk of Flesh” item that can be dropped by slain zombies. Taking this item to one of the randomly-spawned doghouses, which can usually be found at points of interest on the map, will allow the player to spawn a friendly Hellhound with a green name and health bar who will loyally fight at the player’s side. Additionally, players can even earn an Achievement or Trophy called “You Can Pet the Dog” for doing exactly that.
One player has a great idea for those who struggle to keep track of their Hellhound friends. On Reddit, georgelucas420 suggested thatModern Warfare 3should adda dedicated HUD health bar for players' friendly hounds. They included a mockup image in the post which featured a green dog icon next to the player’s yellow gas mask meter with a similar six bars of health.
Currently, MWZ’s allied Hellhounds already have a green health bar above their heads. However, friendly Hounds frequently stray quite far from players as they chase down Zombies, and thus they’re not always in sight. Having a Hound health bar as part of the HUD would be a helpful tool for those who regularly spawn Hellhounds as part of their squad, as they won’t have to visually keep track of their Hounds in the world to know whether they’re still alive or if they need a health boost withMWZ’s Healing Aura Field Upgrade. Most commenters under the post were receptive to the idea, and one took it a step further, suggesting a dog icon be added to the in-game mini-map.
