Summary
Call of Duty: Warzonedisabled snowballs in the gulag due to a frustrating bug. This is another rapid response fromCall of Duty: Warzone’s development team, giving players hope for more prompt fixes in the future.
Snowballs were added toWarzoneas part ofCall of Duty’s recently introduced CODMAS event. This update saw the addition of holiday-themed maps, the Slay Ride Resurgence mode, new unlockable cosmetics, and more. Snowballs are often added toCall of Dutygames as part of the series' annual Christmas event, and while players usually enjoy their festive nature, this time around the new item led to some frustrating outcomes inWarzone.
Warzoneannounced that snowballs are disabled in the game’s gulag arena for the foreseeable future. This was due to a frustrating issue, which saw gulag spectators able to damage players in the arena by throwing snowballs at them. As part ofWarzone’s CODMAS event, snowballs had replaced the throwable rocks that gulag spectators are usually equipped with. This bug was not occurring with every player, so it’s not clear what was causing it. Thankfully,Warzone’s development team quickly took action to remedy the issue.
Warzone’s recent updates have been a promising sign for the game’s fan base. It seems that the game’s development team is taking a much more aggressive approach to fixingWarzone’s issues. Earlier this week,Warzonedisabled a broken attachment for the Lockwood shotgunonly days after its overpowered nature was first discovered. This newest snowball bug was only discovered a couple of days ago as well, so it seems that this is a consistent trend forWarzonegoing into 2024.
In October 2023, that sameLockwood shotgun attachment went unfixedfor almost three weeks. This time around, when the attachment was accidentally reverted to its original state, it was quickly disabled.
ManyCall of Dutyfans are hopeful for the series' future. This is largely due torecent leaks surrounding futureCall of Dutytitles.Call of Duty 2025is apparently a direct sequel to the popularBlack Ops 2, and will feature a mixture of remastered maps and brand-new ones. According to insiders,Call of Duty 2025was originally meant to launch with only recycledBlack Ops 2maps, but it seems that this approach has been altered followingModern Warfare 3’s controversial release.
