Non-binary actor Lachlan Watson shared on the SyFy Twitter account, “I’m here to let you know that Glen and Glenda are back inChuckyseason 2 and I will see you twice this fall.” TheChuckySyFy TV series is excellentand has been well-received by fans and critics. Joe Pantoliano, Sutton Stracke fromThe Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Gina Gershon will also join the season 2 cast.
In the 1998 filmBride of Chucky, Tiffany gives birth to a baby, and while she’s supposed to have twins, she only has one infant and the other one sometimes takes control. In 2004’sSeed of Chucky, Glen/Glenda explains that they are gender fluid.
In theChuckyTV series, Chucky tells Jake that they support and love their child and when Jake asks if they’re okay with it, Chucky responds, “I’m not a monster, Jake.” This is one reason whyChucky endures as a great doll character. It will be great to see Glen/Glenda join the TV series as this will add another layer to the series, which is already a smart examination of how Chucky continues his killing spree in a small town while manipulating children to be friends with him. Since the series has brought in many elements of thehorror franchise, Glen/Glenda should definitely be part of it.
Glen/Glenda stands out as they don’t enjoy hurting people like their parents. InSeed of Chucky, they ask “Isn’t violence bad?” In another scene, Tiffany asks “What do you want, sweetface?” and Glen/Glenda says, “I think… I want to be a boy. But… being a girl would be nice, too.” When Chucky asks “which is it?” Glen/Glenda replies, “I’m not. Sometimes I feel like a boy. Sometimes I feel like a girl. Can I be both?”
