Call of Duty: WarzoneandModern Warfarejust got a surprise update that added a lot of new features, tweaks, and changes, but also came alongside the addition of a brand new LMG to unlock. The BRUEN MK9is a pretty great gun, with range and controllability that put it in competition with some of the best ARs and even DMRs in the game, combined with some top-tier attachments and massive ammo capacity.
The BRUEN MK9 is based on the real-world M249 SAW, and can be unlocked forCall of Duty: Warzonethrough an in-game challenge or a paid cosmetic pack. The in-game challenge is a bit confusing: it requires players to kill 3 enemies near smoke with an LMG in 15 different games. That means while the player is in the smoke, not the enemies. Players just need to equip an LMG with thermal optic, toss a smoke grenade at their own feet, and hope three hapless foes come wandering by.

Best BRUEN MK9 Attachments for Warzone
As usual, there are a few attachments that stand out as top-notch on the BRUEN. InWarzone, range and stealth are paramount, so the Monolithic Suppressor is practically a must-have. While the BRUEN’s standard 100-round belt and optional 200-round belt offer a huge amount of firepower, the best attachment for the gun is actually the 60-round magazine. The 60-round mag improves the handling and reload times of the weapon to a huge degree, and is still on par with the 60-round mags that are a requirement forcompetitive ARs inWarzone.
Optics are up to preference, but the Commando Foregrip, Skeleton Stock, and XRK Horizon 23.0" Barrel are all very well balanced and useful attachments. The ones to avoid are the 200-round belt ammo, laser sights, and any attachment that worsens the BRUEN’s already sluggish handling. Attachments that make recoil and accuracy worse are not much of an issue, since the BRUEN has naturally phenomenal recoil, putting it on par with thesuper-reliable M4A1.

Best BRUEN MK9 Builds for Warzone
For the utmost in handling speed, an 18.0" Para barrel, optic of choice, Skeleton stock, 60-round magazines, and Stippled Grip Tape will make the BRUEN both mobile and incredibly powerful. It’ll be nowhere near theexcellent handling of the MP5, but it will be close to an AR and still have a surprising degree of accuracy and range. For those who want a lot of up close firepower and don’t mind sacrificing a bit of range, this build would still do respectably well when pushed into mid-range engagements.
A good, balanced build for the BRUEN MK9 would look like this: a Monolithic suppressor, zoom optic, 60-round magazines, 23" barrel, and Skeleton stock to make up for a bit of handling speed. That build would allow the MK9 to compete at even DMR ranges, while still going toe to toe with maxed-out ARs in ammo capacity, if not handling speed. A good close-range sidearm like thevery powerful Renetti pistolwould round off this build and provide a bit of close-range backup.
Since the recoil of the MK9 is so manageable, a little bit less damage range is also acceptable. Swapping out the 23" barrel for a good foregrip, stippled grip tape, or theFully Loaded perkwould also be acceptable. Hopping into a custom game allows players to test out weapons before they’re unlocked, so that is a perfect place to find the perfect build that caters to one’s ideal playstyle.Modern WarfareandWarzoneplayers have been getting a steady stream of great weapons, so let’s all hope the trend continues as Season 3 progresses.
