Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7is one of the best spin-offs released by Square Enix. This game served as a great way to flesh out the events that occurred beforeFinal Fantasy 7while also making Zack stand out as a great guy and a worthy protagonist of his own tale. It’s easy to see why fans were overjoyed at the announcement that this beloved game would finally be remastered for modern consoles after being restricted to the PSP platform for the longest time.

The trailer did a great job of showing the new visuals of this game, and also featured many other details that hardcore fans have definitely noticed. Keeping this in mind, here are some of the best things that fans noticed inthe trailer forCrisis Core – Final Fantasy 7 – Reunion.
8Zack Standing Up Against The Shinra Corps
The first and last shot of the trailer isZack facing off against the wave of Shinra Corpsthat were hunting both him and Cloud down. It’s the part in the game where he makes a last stand and gives these troopers hell before biting the dust.
However, with the changes made inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, it’s very possible that Zack may survive this encounter. How the developers will integrate this change, however, is anyone’s guess.
Cloud got his Buster Sword from Zack after the latter sacrificed himself to save this blonde Shinra Trooper. This iconic sword has played a major role across most ofFinal Fantasy 7, receiving an upgrade of sorts in Advent Children as well.
So, it’s rather odd to see Zack wield a rather tame sword inCrisis Corewith no defining features whatsoever. Of course, the game will give Zack this iconic sword over time, especially since Angeal is shown wielding this blade as well.
6His Appearance At The Same Iconic Midgar Train Station
The first mission ofCrisis Coretakes place, fittingly enough, in the iconic train station that was present in the first scene ofFinal Fantasy 7as well. So, it’s fitting that this mission was also shown in the trailer.

Playing through this segment once again with remastered visuals and a higher frame rate is bound to be great. The enhanced visuals and smoother gameplay will make this starting portion more memorable indeed.
5The New UI With Shades Of The Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Many fans noticed how the new UI was pretty similar to that ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remake. It’s definitely a conscious change, given the sheer amount of effort Square Enix is putting into theFinal Fantasy 7universe.
It helps that the new UI looks slightly less intrusive. After all, gamers do prioritize immersion more than ever before, and smaller yet concise UI elements are definitely the way to go for this remastered title.
4Gameplay Elements That Are Largely Unchanged From The Original Game
It seems that combat inCrisis Core – Final Fantasy 7 – Reunionis going to be pretty similar to its original concept. All the spells, attacks, and the like are pretty similar and have mostly received only visual upgrades.
The DMW system seems to be pretty similar as well, withZack showing Limit Breaks like the Octaslash against Ifrit. The game is going to be just as enjoyable as ever if the gameplay is untouched since that was easily the strongest part of the overall experience.
3The Inclusion Of The Characters Angeal And Genesis
Angeal and Genesis are two of the most important characters who were introduced inCrisis Core. Angeal served as a mentor of sorts to Zack and even passes down the iconic Buster Sword to him after his untimely demise.

Meanwhile, Genesis is another failed Shinra experiment that goes berserkway faster than Sephiroth did. However, he does plant the seed in Sephiroth’s mind to seek out his true origins, which paves the way for the events ofFinal Fantasy 7.
2The Appearances Of Iconic Summons Ifrit And Bahamut
Summons have been an iconic part ofFinal Fantasyever since the third entry. So, it’s only fitting thatthe originalCrisis Coreand its remasterfeature these powerful figures as well, with both Ifrit and Bahamut making an appearance in the trailer.
The list of summons in the original game that are bound to make an appearance in the remaster are Ifrit, Odin, Phoenix, Chocobo, Cait Sith, Cactuar, Tonberry, Moogle, Magic Pot, and two versions of Bahamut. Watching these summons with upgraded visuals inCrisis Core – Final Fantasy 7 – Reunionis going to be pretty engaging indeed.
1Aerith Before Her Makeover
Before wearing her iconic get-up that everyone is familiar with,Aerith actually used to wear a simple white dress. It’s this outfit that she wears while greeting Zack inFinal Fantasy 7.
Seeing Aerith in this outfit is pretty great, and she’s bound to have some strong moments of character development with Zack inCrisis Core. That being said, all of this is going to be pretty tragic if Zack ends up dying in the end.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7is coming out this winter for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch.
