Despite his best efforts, famousYouTubestreamer Dr Disrespect broke character after losing a self-inflicted bet during his latest broadcast. Thisisn’t the first time Dr Disrespect broke character, although such occasions are fairly rare relative to the length of his ongoing streaming career, which started way back in 2010.

While he’s neither the first person to adopt a streaming persona nor the first to fail at maintaining one, as far as keeping up appearances for entertainment purposes goes, Herschel Beahm IV is much more committed to his character than most of his alter ego-owning colleagues. There’s no doubt whether Beahm’s dedication to his craft paid off, given how Dr Disrespect continues torank among the most-watched YouTube streamersyear after year.

During his latestYouTubebroadcast on March 22, Dr Disrespect offered a rare glimpse at the real—and highly amused—him while trying to throw off a rivalPGA Tour 2K23player as he was lining up for a challenging chip from the rough around the putting green, proclaiming he’ll pay him $100 “right now” if he makes the shot. The other player responded with a “you promise?” after already initiating the swinging animation which resulted in a chip that ended up going into the hole a few seconds later. Beahm proceeded to look away from the screen, seemingly struggling to contain laughter for several seconds before finally managing to recompose himself.

His chat was less reserved during all this, erupting in laughter and all-caps messages to “pay that man” all throughoutDr Disrespect’s struggles to keep a straight face. For some 30 seconds, the massive influx of messages resembled that of a free-for-all chat, even though the ability to comment on the broadcast was only available to the channel’s members.

Dr Disrespect’s March 22 stream already hit $500 in donations by the time this self-inflicted bet came into play, so even after Beahm rage-quitPGA Tour 2K23half an hour later, his five-hour broadcast was still enough to leave him in the green should he decide to pay up. Actually doing so won’t be entirely straightforward, however, seeing how the rival player will presumably have to prove ownership of the account that matched up with Dr Disrespect several times during his latest stream, before irking him with enough skillful shots to the point the YouTuber decided to try throwing him off his game with a money pledge.

While this isn’t the first time Beahm struggled to keep up his streaming persona, it’s definitely one of the most harmlessly fun such moments. Especially given how thelast time Dr Disrespect broke character was after a mom insultleft him speechless and visibly upset back in February.
