WhenDragon Ball Z: Kakarotwas first revealed, fans were disappointed to learn that it wouldn’t be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Ever since then, fans have been asking Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 for a Switch port. Historically speaking,Dragon Ballgames tend to do very well on the Switch, so it does seem odd that this one decided to stay on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Recently, fans found a leak on Bandai Namco’s Latin American Instagram page that seemed to point towards a Switch port in the making, but the official Bandai Namco Instagram has since refuted this leak.
For those that don’t know, Bandai Namco finally revealedDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s third DLC pack. This will take players into Trunks' future where Goku dies of a heart disease and the Androids wipe out almost all life on Earth. While this is exciting, a few eagle-eyed fans noticed that the end of the trailer showcased a Nintendo Switch logo on the Latin American page despite the game not being available on that platform yet.

In response to this, Bandai Namco reaffirmed that this was a mistake;Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotis not coming to Nintendo Switch. This doesn’t mean that it will never happen, as this could simply be Bandai Namco’s method of covering its tracks or it could simply not be in the cards just yet, but at the moment fans shouldn’t expect to hear anything about this highly requested port anytime soon. For the time being, players will need to continue toenjoyDragon Ball Z: Kakarotand its upcoming DLC 3 packon either PC, PS4, or Xbox One.
Peculiarly, this same screenshot also shows thelogo for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, another platform on which the game is not available. Bandai Namco Entertainment didn’t address this in its statement, so it could be that a next gen upgrade is in the works. Admittedly,Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotsometimes struggles to maintain framerate when there’s a lot happening on screen. Fans can thank Goku’s Spirit Bomb and Vegeta’s Big Bang Attack for this.
As disappointing as this news may be, it isnice to hear directly from Bandai Namco about a leak. Almost all of the news that players have been getting aboutDragon Ball Z: Kakarothas come from leaks, V Jump scans, or other sources, and it’s rare that the publisher will open up like this. Hopefully Bandai Namco steps up its communication in the future and continues to keep fans in the loop.
