Reddit user ZHIKIX shared a video that shows a PvP battle where another player has invaded their world and is on the prowl to kill them. The opponent is wielding Vyke’s War Spear, an excellent weapon that causes Madness build-up with each successful hit. The video shows the user in a defensive position trying to avoid the Frenzyflame Thrust attack, the default skill ofVyke’s War Spear inElden Ring. At this time, the invader has the upper hand as they’ve cornered ZHIKIX against a cliff, bombarding them with non-stop attacks. Understandably, the original poster takes a couple of steps back, but as they do, they fall off the nearby cliff and, luckily, land on a small ledge.
ZHIKIX survived the fall, but the invader followed them and slammed them with back-to-back hits, causing them to fall off the ledge. Shockingly, the user survived this fall too but lost most of their HP. Seeing that the host remained alive despite falling, the invader decided to follow them and jumped, only tofall to their death inElden Ring. The original poster was also shocked to see how they survived, and the invader died, even though they fell from the same height.
However, it should be noted that ZHIKIX and the invader might have dropped from the same height but landed on different surfaces. The player who survived fell on grass and soil, whereas the invader landed on a giant rock. The difference in their landing spot inElden Ringmight suggest why one died and another survived. The developers have not confirmed whether the nature of the landing area plays a significant role in deciding the ultimate outcome of a fall.
