InInside, players take on the role of a young boy on a mysterious journey. Players will take the boy on a2D side-scrolling adventurefilled with puzzles and platforming. But the heart ofInsideis the immersive story it tells along the way. There are no text prompts or cutscenes inInside. The entire game’s story is told moment-to-moment in the foreground and background ofInsideas the player moves through the world. It’s artful in a beautifully unique manner.

Surprisingly, there’s no news or announcement to be shared alongside the free release ofInsideon the Epic Games Store. Previous games have either been released on the Epic Games Store for the first time or have a variety of DLC that can be acquired alongside the game. ButInside’s been available for some time now, has no DLC, andPlaydead has yet to announce the next gamethat it’s working on. Playdead hasn’t even made a post about it on Twitter.
As with previous free games during the Epic Game Sale,Inside’s availability won’t last forever. Each free game during the Epic Games Store Holiday Sale can be claimed for just 24 hours. That means thatInside’s acquirable from now through Christmas morning at 8:00 AM PT. After that,Insidewill go back to its previous retail price, which is likely still a great deal considering the game’s excellence.
