Although the support role inEvil Dead: The Gameis different than classic healing roles for other video games, one truth that stays the same is that, if the team loses, they will be blamed. It’s not fair, but players that take damage expect healing and, if it’s not immediately there, they will start to bawl on the voice chat.

For all parties involved, it’s best to adopt a build that does not have these problems. Thankfully,Evil Dead: The Gamehas a support build that doesn’t rely on long cooldowns to heal. It can single-handedly make the enemy demon quit the game if they see it being used.
Effect
Reassuring Presence
When activated, this ability reduces fear levels for you and nearby teammates.
Alternative Healing
Successful heavy melee attacks partially restore health for you and nearby teammates.
Marked Target: Damage
Headshots will mark the target; a follow up shot from a teammate will deal additional damage.
Marked Target: Healing
Headshots will mark the target; a follow up shot from a teammate will restore a percentage of the damage back to them as health.
There is a reason that Ash sits atop the list ofthe best support characters in the game. The other two survivors rely on amulets and Shemp’s Colas for healing. Ash can help out there too, but the majority of his healing is done via damage. His heavy melee attacks heal the team and his headshots heal allies that shoot the same target.

Lifesteal has always been on the border of overpowered in many video games, but it’s extremely overpowered here, completely skipping the long healing cooldowns the other class choices offer. Oh, and that active ability that reduces fear? Just use it every time it’s off of cooldown and fear will be a non-factor for the entire group.
Skill Tree
Just because Ash is going to be giving the team lifesteal doesn’t mean he can ignore the traditional healing method.Teammates across all consolesare aware by now that the support gets to use the Shemp’s Colas because their healing will heal the team from this item. Take all skills that increase this healing for the times when lifesteal isn’t enough or after a fight to top everybody off.

Next up, add some dodging power and health to the build. Enemy demons should be vigorously targeting the support unit and hunting them down if they want to win, so Ash needs to be ready with extra dodging capabilities and some more health in case he gets hit.
Finally, don’t let healing be the only support Ash can give. Tack on Fast Forward and Arcane Knowledge to assist with objectives. The less time demons have to attack the objectives, the better off the support will be. Less time getting attacked means less damage taken.
Upgrades
The support can’t really support when they’re dead, so make a point of prioritizing the three defensive upgrades first: health, shield, and stamina. After that, Ash has a bit of freedom with the rest with the exception of ranged upgrades, those should be saved for last.
It’s important to note that Ash offers lifesteal for ranged characters that shoot the targets that he headshots. However, if Ash kills the deadite with a headshot, that’s no good. So Ash could keep his ranged damage low, both with the upgrades and by using a weak ranged weapon.
