How to Use the Sensor Backpack to Find Energy Fluctuation in Fortnite
The quest at hand is part ofFortnite’s Resistance quest line, the more story-based challenges intended to correlate with the game’s ongoing plot between The Seven and the Imagined Order, or IO.
As mentioned before, this quest contains multiple phases, so before using the Sensor Backpack, players must first establish a device uplink at Seven Outpost 1or Synapse Station. With the first step complete, start heading north towards Loot Lake, where players can grab the Sensor Backpack along the way.Fortnite’s Sensor Backpack can be found at either of the marked locations below, just off the roads.
Once players have established the device uplink and collected the Sensor Backpack, they’re finally ready to find the actual energy fluctuation. The only issue is,Fortnitedoesn’t provide markers as to where these energy fluctuations specifically are, instead giving a general oneof where Loot Lake is.
The locations displayed below are all three valid areas where energy fluctuations can be found. Players will know they’re closing in on one when the backpack begins beeping more frequently.
Simply interact with the energy fluctuation, which should become a visible orange-ish aura upon approach, and the quest is complete. Given that this quest is quite extensive, stretching out over three phases across nearly half of the island, it’s recommended to stock up on a variety of supplies, especially with something to enhance mobility like a Jetpack orthe newly voted-in Balloons item.
AfterFortniteplayers have completed all the available Resistance quests, they can try taking on the challenges from the Volcanic Assassin Pack, free to anyone who can log into the Epic Games Store on PC. The pack gives players a series of challenges with fiery cosmetics as a reward, including things likethe Sulfuric Street Shine Pickaxefor dealing 2,100 damage to opponents.
Fortniteis free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
