Midas has returned toFortniteafter escaping death in The Underworld. The lore of the game deepens as players investigate what happened to one of the most infamous antagonists in the history ofFortnite.
The Rise of Midas event is live until April 2, and fans have until then to get to the bottom of this story. This article will guide players throughout the various stages of the Rise of Midas event and help them figure out the lore behind it.
Midas Event Release Times
Quests will continue to go live as the event progresses. Here is each stage’s release time:
The Rise of Midas event will be live until April 2 at 9 AM ET, so players have until then to complete these quests so they can collect as many rewards as possible before they’re no longer available.
Rise of Midas Quests
Players must complete all Rise of Midas Quests in order to understand the story behind the golden king’s return to the island. This section of the guide will show players how they can complete every quest, and it will explain the lore behind it as the story progresses.
Midas Rises Quests
Miragold wants to know how Midas escaped his jail cell in The Underground, and gamers must help her understand what happened.
How to Complete
Stage 1 - Collect bars (200)
There are several ways to collect gold bars. However, the fastest method tofarm gold inFortniteis by throwing a Shield Breaker EMP at a vending machine - a stack of 150 gold bars will pop out of the machine. Players can keep doing this as long as they get more Shield Breaker EMPs.
During the Midas event, there are also Gold Chickens on the island, and fans can grab their eggs to collect 350 gold bars.
Stage 2 - Investigate Midas’s jail cell
The Underworld can be a confusing location, as it has several floors and hidden rooms. Gamers can find Midas’s jail cell below Hades’s Altar room, and here is the route they have to take to get there:
Once gamers reach Midas’s jail cell, they mustinvestigate the jail door, the reboot card on the floor, and the cuffs on the wall.
Stage 3 - Corroborate with Marigold on Midas’s escape
In order to find Marigold inFortniteand corroborate with her, players have to visit one of theScrying Pool locationsso they can communicate with her and tell her how Midas escaped.
Hit an Olympian Boss with Chains of Hades
The Chains of Hades can be found as floor loot, by searching chest containers, or by defeating Hades in The Underworld. Once they’ve obtained it, they have tosummon an Olympian Bossso they can hit them with the chains.
Damage players with Chains of Hades or a Harbinger SMG (750)
Both the Harbinger SMG and the Chains of Hades are considered Hades’s signature weapons inFortnite. Players have to get these items and deal damage to enemy players to complete this quest.
Et Tu, Brutus?
Midas suspects that Brutus was the one who betrayed his trust. To finishthe Et Tu, Brutus? Quests, gamers must investigate and get to the bottom of what happened. Players have to complete a thorough investigation on Brutus before confronting him.
Hire Specialists in different matches (3)
There are severalNPCs on theFortnitemap, but only a few of them are Specialists. Here are the NPCs that gamers can hide to complete this quest:
Purchase from Midas Vending Machines or Service Stations (3)
To find Midas Vending Machines or Midas Service Stations players can search gas stations, service stations, and named locations. Here are some locations where they can spawn:
Players can purchase weapons at Midas Vending Machines, and they can fully upgrade their weapons, get a Patch Up service, or activate a Rift at Midas Service Stations.

Scan The Marigold for recording devices
The recording device can be foundin front of the vault door in The Marigold yacht.
Confront Brutus
Once gamers have completed the first three quests, they must confront Brutus at Pleasant Piazza and ask him why there are recording devices on the yacht.
After speaking to Brutus, he will explain that the recording devices are there due to Marigold’s involvement with The Society back in Chapter 5 Season 1. Hope planted them back then, which clears Brutus of betraying Midas. Fans must continue completing quests to get to the bottom of this.
