Week 5 ofFortnite’s current season has arrived, and with it comes another batch of quests for players to complete in exchange for large sums of XP. One of these quests requires players to plant a series of wiretaps in order to monitor communications from the Imagined Order, or IO. While a straightforward directive, the wiretaps must be placed in some rather precarious positions, and knowing exactly where to go can mean the difference between success and failure.

Epic Games' enduringly popular free-to-play battle royale title is in its second month of Chapter 3 Season 2. The current season made waves around the gaming industry for initially pulling its signature building mechanic, then re-adding it with the dedicated Zero Build Mode for those who prefer the change.Fortniteagain made headlines a few days ago for what many are considering its wildest crossover:the announcement of Wu-Tang Clan cosmetics.

Where to Plant Wiretaps to Monitor IO Communications inFortnite

Part ofFortnite’s ongoing Resistance quest line, players' first mission for Week 5 is to monitor IO communications by planting a series of wiretaps. However, players must first establish a device uplink beforehand, although everything is located around the Command Cavern and The Fortress POIs. Players can travel to any of the blue markers on the included map to establish the uplink, then head to the following three locations:

It is highly advisable to place each of the wiretaps in the order listed, as a series of Siege Cannons will help to greatly expedite traveling between the substantially spread-out wiretaps. While players could theoretically complete the quest in the opposite direction, doing so gets awfully close toThe Battle for Coney Crossroads. Added as part ofFortnite’s latest update, the fully-fledged battle between IO Guards and Seven Sentries is bound to be a landing hotspot not only for the prized loot upon victory, but several of Week 5’s regular season quests require players to engage in the latest battlefront.

Once all three of the wiretaps are planted, the quest will be complete. Players can then try tackling the next Resistance quest, which includesrecovering a Data Drive from Daily Rubble. For those unaware, the first of the previously mentioned IO-Seven battles took place at Daily Bugle, where The Seven’s victory resulted in the looming IO blimp to crash just offshore. Players will need to establish a device uplink near the downed ship before making their way over to it and locate a Data Drive.
