Genshin Impact’s combat system is based around combining various elements in order to trigger different elemental reactions which allow players to deal additional damage. At the moment,Genshin Impactcharacters can apply eight different elemental reactions.
Naturally, the introduction of a new element will bring with it unique reactions which will likely have a major impact on the current state of the game. Numerous leaks and rumors have already revealed that a brand-new major region is just around the corner, as is a new element.

Dendro is the only element that is not part of a character’s kit at the moment, though there have been plenty of rumors revealing that it will be a part of the upcoming major update. Two of the most credible Genshin Impact leakers named Lumie and Genshin Intel have revealed a video showing the new elemental reactions applied on the battlefield. In order to apply the element on the enemy, the leaker is using the Dendro Samachurl’s various attacks. The leak has confirmed previous rumors that the twonew elemental reactions are called Overgrown and Intensified.
According to the leak, Overgrown is triggered when Hydro and Dendro are combined. This reaction drops seeds that explode after a short period of time dealing AoE damage. The second reaction, Intensified, is caused when Electro meets Dendro, and it increases both types of elemental damage. The leak does not show the combination of Pyro and Dendro, probably because thisGenshin Impactelemental reactionalready exists in the game.
Players have already started wondering how the new element will impact the currentcharacter meta inGenshin Impact. However, it’s still hard to guess the power of the new reactions, especially since the leak does not show any damage numbers. It’s safe to say that Dendro will have a more of a supportive role in the game and players may need to drop their favorite supports in order to benefit from these reactions.
Even though there are still no official information about the Dendro’s release date, the new element is expected to arrive in Version 3.0 with a new major region which is rumored to be Sumeru. PreviousGenshin Impactleaks have already revealed anearly version of Sumeru’s map modelplaced besides the city of Mondstadt. When it comes to the first Dendro characters, Baizhu and Yaoyao have been rumored for a very long time, however, the only character that is certain to arrive is the Archon Kusanali who will serve as a protector of the whole Sumeru region.
Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
