The biography for the upcoming playable Dendro character Baizhu has someGenshin Impactplayers feeling dejected. Much can be said aboutGenshin Impactplayers, but one surprisingly consistent trend is how much they care about the characters that are frequently added to the game. It’s not just HoYoverse’s unique and impressive character art, but also the way it gives everyGenshin Impactcharacter such a rich personality that’s easy to empathize with. Baizhu continues this trend.
Genshin Impacthas a substantial update coming very soon. Update 3.6 will include two new characters, both of whom players have previously met in theirGenshin Impactadventures. Baizhu is one such character, with some fans already referring to him familiarly as “Snake Daddy” due to the albino pet snake he carries around his neck. Baizhu will be a5-star Dendro characterand Catalyst user, ensuring he’ll be a popular pick when he eventually arrives.

Along with confirmation that Baizhu will be arriving inGenshin Impactupdate 3.6, HoYoverse also released a character biography for the Dendro character. Players likely already knew Baizhu was a doctor based on previously revealed details about that character. But few likely expected that Baizhu has a tragic backstory that’s going to make playing him a sorrowful experience. For the full link,click here.
Baizhu’s biography explains that “Regrettably, Baizhu cannot save all his patients – himself, for example.” It’s then revealed that Baizhu has a sickness himself, for which he takes “numerous bitter medicines.” Despite that, Baizhu is said to be in great pain and extremely poor physical condition. Regardless, he’s said to hide his condition from his patients, choosing instead to suffer alone. When among others, he instead will always be seen with a smile on his face.
It’s very unlikely that Baizhu’s condition will play any role in how he plays inGenshin Impact, of course. It would be interesting if HoYoverse did play around with the idea, but as things stand Baizhu’s backstory is almost certainly just that. It’s something for fans ofGenshin Impact’s loreto take to heart, to help make Baizhu that much more of a well-realized character.
Update 3.6 forGenshin Impactis still some time away from arriving. Best guesses for its release point to mid-April. Players will not only have the opportunity to unlock Baizhu, but also Kaveh.Kaveh is said to be the roommate of Alhaithamand a renowned Sumeru architect. Expect more information about both Dendro characters in March.
