There are 35 Nornir Chests inGod of War Ragnarok, ten of which can be found in the realm of Svartalfheim. One of these chests is located on Alberich Island: a small mass of land to the north of the realm. There are a few late-game things that players can do on the island such asfighting a Berserkeror uncovering a lost treasure, but to open the Nornir Chest, all players will need is the Leviathan Axe and a Sonic Arrow or two.

With this in mind, it’s a good idea for players to visit Alberich Island early on, as the item inside the Nornir Chest there can make life a lot easier for players. This is because the chest will contain either an Idunn Apple or a Horn of Blood Mead, which can be used toincrease Kratos' maximum healthor Spartan Rage meter respectively. Those looking to get their hands on these rare rewards need only solve a simple puzzle.
How to Unlock the Alberich Island Nornir Chest
Players will find the Alberich Island Nornir Chest immediately after docking their boat, as it’s sitting in plain sight on the right side of the beach. There are a few enemies that they’ll need to take out before they can open it, however, which may prove challenging to some low-level players. With a little bit of skill and some astute dodging though, players should be able to clear the area and get to work onopening the Nornir Chest.
to break the seal on the chest, players will need to ring three bells within a few seconds of one another. The first of these bells is directly behind the chest and has a rune that looks like a C on it. The second is opposite the chest, though players will need to have their companion fire a Sonic Arrow at the green patch of the mast off in the distance before doing anything else. This will cause the mast to break and the bell to fall within range ofKratos' Leviathan Axe.
The final bell is behind a metal grate to the left of the chest, meaning thatGod of War Ragnarokplayers won’t be able to get to it right away. However, by throwing the Leviathan Axe at the spinning wooden panels to the left of the grate, players will be able to temporarily raise the bell, thus allowing them to throw the Leviathan Axe at it. Upon doing so, they’ll need to quickly hit the other two bells with the Axe, after which, the seal on the chest will break.
Though in theory the three bells can be rung in any order, players should always start with the one behind the metal grate due to the fact that it needs to be raised up before it can be rung.
The reward inside the chest will depend on how many Nornir Chests players have opened up to this point, with odd-numbered chests containing Idunn Apples and even-numbered chests housing Horns of Blood Mead. At least until players have opened up their thirtieth chest, that is, as after this point they’ll instead be rewarded with things like Hacksilver andShattered Runes.
