NumerousGTAfans have recently taken to social media to listRed Dead Redemption 2features that they want Rockstar to implement inGrand Theft Auto 6. Several such discussions gained online traction shortly after Take-Two added to the hype surrounding the upcoming game, asserting thatRockstar is aiming for “nothing short of perfection” withGTA 6.
Since the next installment in theGTAfranchise will be Rockstar’s first original AAA game sinceRed Dead Redemption 2, there’s a widespread expectation that the two titles will have plenty of similarities. And while some fans are currently theorizing howGTA 6’srumored setting basically confirms a long-timeRead Dead Redemption 2theory, others have focused on brainstormingRDR2-inspired wishlists for the nextGTAgame.

One such particularly elaborate feature request was recently authored by Reddit user Snoo_61724, who said they’re hoping that Rockstar will bring back the facial hair growth mechanics fromRDR2inGTA 6. The fan even took the effort to illustrate their idea by editing over a dozen high-resolution character models from artist Hossein Diba, which were themselves inspired by themassiveGTA 6gameplay leak from September 2022.
Shortly thereafter, Reddit user Notmmn created a compilation of some particularly grislyRed Dead Redemption 2screenshots showcasing the game’s physics engine in all its gory glory, stating that they hopeGTA 6will allow for similarly detailed enemy mutilations. Whether that actually ends up being the case is dubious, not least because theGTAseries has historically been somewhat less graphic in its depictions of violence compared to theRed Dead Redemptiongames.
A potentially far less controversialRDR2feature that the fandom is hoping to see inGTA 6concerns nighttime. As underlined by a recent post from Reddit user Predator-FTW, many fans are expecting that the nextGTAgame will at the very least deliver atmospheric night lighting on par withRDR2’s visuals. Out of all such feature requests that gained online traction this week, improved graphics are pretty much a given forGrand Theft Auto 6, both due to the last half a decade’s worth of technological advancements and Rockstar’s consistent track record of upping the ante in terms of production values.
While this series ofRDR2-inspired feature requests forGTA 6underlines the massive anticipation for Rockstar’s next game, fans shouldn’t hold their breath for official news just yet. According to recent reports citing Take-Two’s financial forecasts and historical precedent,Grand Theft Auto 6will arrive no earlier than 2024, most likely at the tail end of that tentative release window.
