While taunting opponents in a first-person shooter is a well-worn practice, sometimes it can backfire. Activision’s battle royaleCall of Duty: Warzonehas had plenty of examples, such as a recent clip of ateabagger getting killed by their downed opponent, or another of one player’s execution as Captain Price that leaves them wide open.
The execution clip was uploaded by Reddit user pinkasfloyd7 to the r/modernwarfare subreddit today, and almost looks like something out of a movie. It starts with one player trying to snipe opponents from battlements high above the prison section ofCall of Duty: Warzone’s map before they are killed from behind by Price’s pistol headshot. Then, while Price is up against the wall smoking his cigar, he’s killed by another sniper somewhere off screen.

Some players in the comments point out that one of the funniest things about the clip is you can freeze-frame the moment just before Price is killed and find a shocked expression, as if he realizes what’s about to happen. Luckily, pinkasfloyd7 assures their fellow players that the execution kill did count, as sometimes thespecial animations accompanying executionscan last long enough that they may be discounted if a user is killed halfway through.
The fact that pinkasfloyd7 got a unique death and a story to tell is also something good to pull away from the whole endeavor, asCall of Duty: WarzoneandModern Warfaretend to be riddled with issues that make for a less fun experience. For instance, oneWarzoneplayer recently came across a glitch thatspawned a supply chopper underneath the map, leading to their death.
Problems have also been discovered in the game’s netcode. Another Reddit user, who goes by asafheller, wasdenied their first-ever victory in the battle royalelast week due to their Xbox One losing connection — which has been reported as more of a widespread issue for console users.
In fact, some Xbox users, in particular, are also upset by thestate of crossplay inCall of Duty: Warzone, believing it should be an option they can toggle off to avoid coming across PC players who may often be cheating or hacking their games in some way. Despite all these issues, there is clearly still fun to be had inCall of Duty’s attempt at a battle royale, as evidenced by its large install base and clips from players like pinkasfloyd7.
