Chapter 395 ofHunter x Hunterwas a one-of-a-kind chapter, and as it has been titled “Founding: Part 1,” it’s very likely thatHunter x Hunter396 will be called “Founding: Part 2” as to continue from the events of the previous chapter – in which the author and illustrator, Yoshihiro Togashi, is giving the readers vast knowledge pertaining to the origins of one of the majorHunter x Hunterantagonists, the head of the Spider, Chrollo Lucilfer.
Hunter x Hunter 396: The Phantom Troupe On Heil-ly’s Tracks
In the previousHunter x Hunterchapter, Hinrigh Biganduffno, the underboss of Xi-Yu, was able to locate a possible entry to Heil-ly’s base throughhis interesting nen abilitythat allowed him to turn a camera into a cat for the purposes of surveillance of large areas while he was absent. With the information that he has now collected, he and Cha-R’s underboss, Wang, noticed their current allies which happen to be threemembers of the Phantom Troupe, most notably, Nobunaga, Phinks, and Feitan. With this newly acquired information and the goal of crushing Heil-ly and their boss, Morena Prudo, they finally headed out.
The group found themselves cutting the wall inside an apartment’s bathroom, where they located a base that had already been deserted, indicating that the Heil-ly mafia family are a lot more organized and vigilant than they expected. This came as a shock, especially after defeating the weak assassin sent by them, Luini, back inHunter x Hunterchapter 393. With all that in mind, their small exploration of the inside of this base stopped after Nobunaga’s statement brought the readers into a back story of their lives during their childhoods in Meteor city. Hunter x Hunter chapter 396 could take the readers back to where the Phantom Troupe left off with their investigation. Fans could also see their report go back to Hinrigh and Wang – maybe even finding some lead beforehand.
Hunter x Hunter 396: Chrollo Lucilfer In Meteor City
The major focus of the last week’s chapter was a look at the past of the Phantom Troupe, specifically their leader, Chrollo Lucilfer. Before the formation of the Phantom Troupe, the members of the Spider seemed to not get along. As seen in chapter 395, Machi informs Uvo that Chrollo, what seems to be Franklin, and Shalnark have been digging around in his territory. This leads him to chasing them to try and retrieve the VHC. Chrollo managed to hold on to it even after Phinks tried to snatch it from him. He then headed to the city’s church to show the VHCto his friend, Pakunoda. As he spent time with her, fans learned via the city’s elders that due to the situation of Meteor City, where no one gets a birth certificate, high rates of kidnapping exist, of which 70% are children under 15. By the end of the chapter, a pack of men was seen kidnapping what appeared to be children, which now leads intoHunter x Hunter396.

With chapter 395 giving huge exposition to Chrollo Lucilfer’s character as well as a new look at Meteor City, the next chapter is likely to continue the events of the previous one. Two possible situations could arise here, depending on the identity of these kidnapped children. If their identity happens to be that of the members of the future Phantom Troupe, then it would set up a possible rescue mission for Chrollo and Pakunoda. This could also tie into them swearing loyalty to Chrollo and marking the beginning of the Phantom Troupe. If these are random children, then Chrollo could team up with the future Phantom Troupe members to save the kids, and in doing so, perhaps, prove his strength and his talent for leadership.Hunter x Hunterchapter 396 could also explain how Chrollo Lucilfer ends upunlocking his nen ability, “Skill Hunter,” which is certainly something that the fans would love to see. Slowly but surely, Chrollo will rise to power and gain the respect of the other children in Meteor City.
