FortniteChapter 5 Season 2’s end-of-season event is just around the corner, and leakers have already decrypted it. When the Pandora’s Box event went live towards the end ofFortniteChapter 5 Season 1, players knew that they were headed towards an epic new season focused on ancient Greek gods, myths, and legends. This artifact was quite important to the lore of the season, but it remained untouched in the Styx River, west of Ruined Reels, since then.
There were two major events throughout Chapter 5 Season 2; one was dedicated toAvatar: The Last Airbender, and the other was a yearly celebration of Star Wars Day. Both of these events featured their own quests, cosmetic rewards, and even event passes. However, they didn’t contribute to the game’s questline, which means they didn’t deepen the lore or explain the relation between the Myths and Mortals season and the rest of theFortnitestoryline. Many fans were eager to learn more, but the only way they could do this was by completing character Snapshot Quests, also known as Story Quests.
Chapter 5 Season 2 started in early March, and it will end on May 24. The date is now closer than ever, so players were hopeful that they would get to experience a live event soon. Recently, dark clouds started forming around Zeus’s in-gamestatue on Mount Olympus. Leakers have revealed that this is related to an upcoming live event, which they have already gotten access to via the game files. Notkrae, a dataminer on Twitter,shared several videosof the next event.
According to theleaked footage, it seems that Zeus will grow angrier by the second and strike Pandora’s Box with his powerful lightning bolts, causing the water in the Styx River to boil from the heat. For now, it is unknown what the consequences could be, as gamers aren’t able to tell what will happen to the box. Its legend indicates that if it is opened, all of the evils in the world will be released, so it could be that something terrifying will be set free if Zeus’s power breaks it open. Many gamers believe thatChapter 5 Season 3’s themewill be post-apocalyptic. This may be what leads to the destruction falling upon the Battle Royale island and its inhabitants.
Where Will the Live Event Take Place in Fortnite?
Those who have followed the lore by completing Snapshot Quests will know by now that the heroes on the island have been trying hard to defeat Zeus. It was finally accomplished with theconclusion of Medusa’s Story Quests, which ended with the player reporting their victory against Zeus to the Oracle.
