Some of the substories in the game are story-related and introduce new features to the game, which either end up becoming a mini-game or a combat feature.
There are several substories where Ichiban faces choices, and selecting the correct answer can lead to better rewards or a raise in personality stats. This guide focuses on Substory 15, which starts on Aloha Beach.

Samurai, May We Walk Together? is the 15th Substory, and takes place onWest Aloha Beachduring the third Chapter. The Substory requires the playerto unlock thePoundmatesfeature, which becomes available after visitingJeff’s taco truck during the main story. Approaching the area will automatically start the Substory.
As the Substory starts,Ichibanis getting ready to have a swim in the ocean when he is interrupted by a group of thugs harassing a woman. You will have to fight these level 9 enemies, and after defeating them, you will meetNathan. Nathan is a director at a TV station and is working on an interview that focuses on Japanese tourists. You will get a choice, and after accepting to do the interview, Nathan will take you to a food truck.
After sitting at the table, you will get three choices to choose from three foods:Kalua Pig,Mahi Mahi, andRice and millet. Clearly, Nathan and the gang want you to pick the Japanese dish, so the correct choice here is thethird option.As such, choosing rice and millet will give Ichiban a +20in hisConfidencestat.
After the food, Nathan will take you to the crosswalk, where a light rain will occur. Here, you will get two options to choose from, which are an Umbrella or aFukaamigasahat. The second option is the correct choice, which will give Ichiban +20 in hisKindnessstat.
From here, you will go to play darts withMarilyn, who will beusing regular darts. You will have the option to choose between regular darts andShurikens. All the options are the same, so you may select anything. After this, the Substory will progress a little until you reach Aloha Beach again, where you will have to fight some level 9 enemies.

After successfully defeating the group of enemies,Nathanwill offer you twoBright Yellow Sweets, which look an awful lot like the Samurai bribe back in the old days. Nathan will also be available as a Poundmate to use while in battle.
