The final week of October is here andMagic Arenaplayers are busy wrapping up theirfirst full month of time with the Zendikar Rising set. There’s still a fairly long wait before the next Standard legal set is scheduled to drop, so that means there are a lot more Zendikar Rising drafts on the way before the Magic: The Gathering schedule of events sees any major shifts.

That said, Zendikar Rising isn’t the only Standard legal set. That means that the Limited offerings available onMagic Arenain the coming month are likely going to continue to put a spotlight on Zendikar Rising in the main slot and cycle through the other Standard legal sets every few weeks. For now, that means a return toMagic: The Gathering’sThrone of Eldraine set to help close out the final week of October (beforeLair of the Behemothsmakes a comeback in early November).

As mentioned before, it is still possible that some other surprise events may pop up throughout the monthas Halloween approaches, but that would come as a pretty big surprise this late into the schedule. Players will have their choice between two different types of Zendikar Rising draft options, a Throne of Eldraine draft, and the usual Friday Night Magic offering to spice things up a bit.

Short description of draft format

Draft cards using 14-card draft packs and build a 40-card deck to battle others. You’ll receive rewards based on how many wins you earn you get to keep all the cards you choose! Keep playing until you reach seven wins or three losses.

Draft against real opponents

Single game matches

Ends after 7 wins or 3 losses

Best of three matches

Ends after 5 wins or 2 losses

Available October 23

In terms of scheduled events, that should be everything players need to know to jump intoMagic Arenathis week and start playing some Zendikar Rising orrevisit Throne of Eldraine. Both sets provide very entertaining Limited formats that were well-received by players, so that should help make for a popular week of events on the online platform.

As always, players can also queue up for casual or ranked Constructed play at any time. Those matches are free and are the primary way many players try to climb the ranked Constructed ladder all the way up to the Mythic Tier. Reaching that level of play requires a ton of practice, play, and grinding; but is a great way to try and qualify for special tournament invites and prizes in the competitive card game.
