With the release of the PS5 just a few days away, something that many in the gaming community are looking forward to is the remaster ofMarvel’s Spider-Man, which will be included as part of the ultimate edition ofSpider-Man: Miles Morales. Though, for the longest time, there was a pretty big problem facing the remastered version ofSpider-Man,until now that is.

One thing that Insomniac Games confirmed months ahead of the release ofSpider-Man: Miles Moraleswas that the remastered version ofSpider-Manwould not include a cross-save feature. This left many fans feeling disappointed and upset. Although, now it seems those complaints have not fallen on deaf ears.

Insomniac Games announced earlier today via Twitter that an update will be released for the PS4 version ofSpider-Manthat will allow users to export their save data over to thePS5version of the game. According to Insomniac, the update will go into effect in just a few weeks, around Thanksgiving.

This should come as good news for many fans of the game. The ability to export saves across consoles is becoming quite a useful, quality of life feature for many different games that are featured on different platforms, cross-gen or otherwise. Despite theSpider-Manremaster still not having a physical release, at least players will now have the option to continue their games on the next console generation. The wait may be another concern, but minimal given the variety of games releasing this week.

TheSpider-Manremaster promises to have a lot of upgradesand features previously not included in the original version of the game. This will include the super fast load times and the use of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers featured on the PS5. Hopefully, this will enhance the user’s experience with the game, especially those who now plan to transfer their save data over to the PS5 version once the update releases on the PS4.

In any case, it will be interesting to see where the franchise progresses past the original game andSpider-Man: Miles Morales. The amount of success and popularity the series has achieved just two years after the release of the first game is impressive, especially for such a new franchise. Where the series leads afterMiles Moralesis anyone’s guess at this point, but for now, the fact that Insomniac Games has actively listened to fan feedback and continues to provide new content by way of new suits and updates is an encouraging thought.

Marvel’s Spider-Manis available now on the PS4 with a PS5 version releasing on November 12th, 2020.
