During an interview withEsquire, Kutcher revealed that his former co-star and now-wife insisted that the two take on the roles inThat ’90s Show. Kutcher recalled, “[She] goes, ‘You know, we owe our entire careers to this show. It doesn’t matter what the script is, we’re doing it.’” Kunis previously talked about returning to the franchise, calling ‘bs’ onJackie and Kelso ending up together(the two were apart at the end of the original) and recalling feeling nervous being back on set. She stated that the experience might just have been one of the most difficult of her career. The actress has grown a lot sinceThat ’70s Showended, so it was interesting being back on a recreated set and trying to get back into character.

Kunis and Kutcher’s reunion on screen makes sense for their characters. InThat ’90s Show, theThat ’70s Showcharacters are revealedto have gone through several changes in the years since the original series. One thing didn’t change: Kelso and Jackie are still stuck in a cyclical on-again-off-again relationship. They had broken up in season 4 of the series and never officially got back together, but there were hints that they would never fully get over one another. Amusingly enough, the characters are also revealed to be on their second remarriage inThat ’90s Show.

Perhaps Kunis and Kutchercould return toThat ’90s Showseason 2. The characters only appear briefly in season 1, but their son, Jay (Mace Coronel) is one of the main characters. It’s a shame that the two don’t interact with their son much on screen, but this could be rectified in future seasons. There also hasn’t been a reunion between Jackie and Donna or Eric and Kelso, which could be made uncomfortable by the possibility of their children dating. Ultimately, Kunis and Kutcher being up for a return in season 1 could indicate that they’re up for future appearances.
