Halofans have been given a lot to enjoy within the last several months and have even more to look forward to, what with the arrival ofHalo Infinitelater this year. So far, 2020 has been a great year to be a fan ofHalo. Though, it seems that fans of the series have one more thing to look forward to in the coming months.
Halois considered by many to be one of the most influential video gaming franchises of all time. The first installment,Halo: Combat Evolved, was largely responsible for putting Microsoft on the gaming map when the original Xbox first released. Since then, the franchise has grown into a universally recognized gaming icon. In fact, aPC version ofCombat Evolvedwas released on Steam a couple weeks ago.

However, due to the scale of which the franchise has grown,Halohas branched off into different forms of entertainment. Aside from the main video game series, there have been multipleHalomovies, both animated and live-action. There have also been multiple lines ofHalotoys and physical merchandise. In addition, there have been multipleHalobooks written by multiple authors that continue to expand the story and world ofHalooutside of the main game series.
2020 will mark the return of Troy Denning’sA Master Chief Storyseries with Denning’s third installment,Halo: Shadows of Reach. This new book takes place one year after the events ofHalo 5and will see the Master Chief and his team journey back to the planet of Reach, a fan favorite location. This book is set to release on August 05, 2025.
TheHalobooks were not nearly as popular as the original games, but they were incredibly well written and helped fans of the series to better understand the world ofHalo. It’s nice to see that these books are still being written and thatHalois as popular as it was back when it first released in 2001. So much so thatNerf gunsand otherHalothemed merchandise continue to be produced.
With all of this being said, it is somewhat infuriating considering that fans know more with regards to this newHalobook than they do aboutHalo’snewest installment,Halo Infinite. This game has been teased for several years now and still, fans have been givenvery little informationregarding the game itself. Hopefully, more details will surface in the coming months.
