The anime adaptation of Hajime Kōmoto’s manga,Mashle: Magic and Muscleshas revealed more of the cast who will be involved in the production of the series. The anime was announced in July this year after the original manga entered its final and said to be a “complete adaptation” of the source material.
This new trailer forMashle: Magic and Musclesis the second released in anticipation of the series, which is slated to be a production courtesy of Aniplex, with animation by A-1 Pictures. The first trailer revealed staff members and the voice of the main character Mash, while this new one has revealed four more cast members who will be working alongside Chiaki Kobayashi in the series.

The first promotional video for theMashle: Magic and Musclesanime was first shown at the Aniplex Online Fest 2022, which was held in September. This first video revealed the casting of Chiaki Kobayashi (Langa,SK8 – The Infinity) as the main character, Mash Burnedead. The main staff in the production ofMashle: Magic and Musclesinclude theCyberpunk: Edgerunnersassistant director, Tomoya Tanaka, in the director’s seat; with series composition by Yosuke Kuroda (High School of the Dead).
Character designs are by Hisashi Higashijima, who does prop design forthe currently-airing soccer anime,BLUELOCK; while the music composition is done by Masaru Yokoyama, known for their work on the 2019 reboot ofFruits Basket. The production of the series' animation will be done by A-1 Pictures (The Seven Deadly Sins).
Mashle: Magic and Musclesis a story set in a world of magic, where magic is prevalent and used pretty much everywhere and one’s aptitude for magic can even determine one’s social standing. Somewhere in the forest, a young man lives peacefully with his father. Due to his inability to use magic,spends all his time training his bodyand bulking up; however, this strong body that he has built is put to the test when his life is put in danger, and he has to defend himself against magic users who are out to get him. Somehow, after his lack of magical ability is discovered, Mash is enrolled in a magic school where he must find a way to come out on top. The anime series is set to broadcast sometime in 2023.
