It is unknown how much more will be shown fromGotham Knightsleading up to its expedited release in October. There are surely fans at this point who still need to see more, but there are likely a lot of surprises that await them that may be best kept secret until fans get their hands onGotham Knights.
For example, fans who do not want more boss fights spoiled should steer clear ofGotham Knights’ latest reveal. Yesterday, it was learned thatGotham Knightswould soon feature Harley Quinn boss fight gameplay. That gameplay has now arrived, showing what Game Director Geoff Ellenor calls her “end of arc boss fight,” suggesting that this may be one of the final encounters that players have with her character before she is presumably locked up in the GCPD.

IGN First’s coverage recently aired this gameplay, which sits at around seven minutes long. The fight is introduced by a cinematic that teases what Harley’s villain arc has been composed of thus far, with Nightwing having pursued her into Gotham Hospital. Harley’s minions, who may or may not composetheir own faction gang inGotham Knights, are seemingly innocent Gothamites who are mind-controlled by a handheld device Harley keeps on her person. Players will probably be fighting these citizens numerous times throughout Harley’s storyline.
The character being played in this gameplay demonstration is Nightwing, and as such it is interesting to see how gymnastic and agile Harley is in comparison to him. Harley cartwheels, handsprings, and flips midair as gracefully and fluidly as Nightwing, all while swinging a mallet at him that has a red icon in place of the common white icon that informs players when to dodge.
Harley also has a move where she leaps backward and lobs three explosives in a wide area that each have their own circle AoEs. Nightwing repeatedly uses a cryogenic elemental attack that seems to knock Harley back and immobilize her, leaving her open to consecutive attacks or grabs. Harley’s mind-controlled minions are eventually let loose on Nightwing, which is fascinating to see since it easily marks the most enemies seen on screen at once duringGotham Knights’ combat.
The fight is left on a cliffhanger for fans as it fades out before a third phase can begin. Still, this gameplay is an insightful demonstration for both Nightwing and Harley Quinn. Any fans planning to main Nightwing can get excited now for thesecond issue ofGotham Knights’ prequel comic, which will include a code that redeems an exclusive in-game skin for his escrima sticks.
Gotham Knightsis set to release on October 21 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
