The world ofOne Pieceis home to countless royal families who rule their own kingdoms. While all of them are certainly monarchs, they hold different titles and run their countries in very different manners. Naturally, most royal families tend to stay away from criminal activities such as piracy, as is expected of those who run kingdoms.

Some, if not all, of these royal families are also allied with the World Government and are, thus, given a place in the Reverie. However, in certain rare cases, those with a royal bloodline end up going on a journey to the seas and become pirates inOne Piece. These wild characters have cast off their law-abiding, noble origins for a life of adventure.
9Cavendish
Cavendish is a strong pirate from the New World who was once a prince of the Bourgeoise Kingdom. Although he was very loved among his people, Cavendish chose to set out to sea in hopes of attaining great infamy.
He is the captain of the Beautiful Pirates and an ally of the Straw Hat Pirates, being the First Commander of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Cavendish remains incredibly popular despite being a pirate. However, he’s not nearly as popular as the members of the Worst Generation, whom he resents.
8Nefeltari Vivi
Vivi is the daughter of King Cobra of the Kingdom of Alabasta and the princess of the kingdom. She was one of the main characters during the Alabasta Saga of the story, in which shejourneyed with the Straw Hat Pirates.
Although Vivi never officially joined the crew, she was a part of the group for quite a while and is considered to be an honorary former member. After the fall of Crocodile, Vivi ended up staying behind in Alabasta to take care of her people and raise her country from the ground once again.
7Avalo Pizarro
Also known as the Corrupt King, Avalo Pizarro was once a king of a Kingdom in the South Blue. As evident from his epithet, Avalo Pizarro was an unscrupulous ruler, and his atrocities were such that they were erased from history entirely.

Consequently, Pizarro was imprisoned in Impel Down Level 6 for quite a lot of years. Shortly before the Paramount War, Pizarro was freed from Impel Down by Marshall D. Teach, and is currently one of his Ten Titanic Captains. Although most details about his past remain unknown, fans will definitely find out more about him in the future.
6Inuarashi & Nekomamushi
Both Inuarashi and Nekomamushi are known as the Kings of Mokomo Dukedom, a kingdom on the back of a giant elephant named Zunesha. While Inuarashi is the King of the Day, Nekomamushi is known to be the King of the Night.
Both of them set out to sea at a very young age and ended up in the land of Wano, where they became vassals of Kozuki Oden. When Oden joined the Whitebeard Pirates, the Kings of Mokomo Dukedom followed him and became pirates in his image. They also joined the Roger Pirates, before finally returning to Wano.
5Donquixote Doflamingo
The son of Donquixote Homing, Doflamingo was once a Celestial Dragon who held the greatest power in the world ofOne Piece. His father, however, wanted to live a regular life, and thus his family moved to the surface.
Targeted by humans, Doflamingo killed his own father and took his head back to Mariejois in hopes of rejoining the life of a Celestial Dragon; however, he was rejected. He then became a pirate, and even joined the Shichibukai. Doflamingo remains the only pirate in the story with the blood of the Celestial Dragons so far.
4Bartholomew Kuma
Kuma was a member of the Revolutionary Army and a close friend of Monkey D. Dragon. Before his life as a member of the Revolutionary Army, however, Kuma was the King of the Sorbet Kingdom in South Blue. His ruthlessness as king earned him the moniker The Tyrant.

At some point,he ended up joining the Shichibukaiand became a part of the Pacifista project. Currently, he is a slave of the Celestial Dragons, although his identity has been erased due to the modifications made to him as a Pacifista.
3Charlotte Linlin
Charlotte Linlin was abandoned by her parents on Elbaf in the New World and taken in by Mother Carmel. Raised there for quite a while, Linlin grew up to be quite strong. However, her hunger pangs eventually got the better of her and she ended up eating all those close to her, unaware of what she was doing.
Linlin eventually created her own kingdom known as Totto Land, and became its Queen. As a pirate, she attained great infamy and became a member of the Rocks, before finally startingthe Big Mom Pirates and becoming a Yonko.
2Sanji
Sanji is a member of the Straw Hat Pirates who serves as their cook. Born in the North Blue, Sanji was once a prince of the all-powerful Vinsmoke Family. His father, Vinsmoke Judge, is the King of the Germa Kingdom.
Due to being abused by his family, Sanji was set free by his sister, Reiju, and has abandoned the Vinsmoke name ever since. Although weak once,Sanji has grown up to become a fantastic pirateand is known to be the Wings of the Pirate King.
1Boa Hancock
Boa Hancock, also known as the Pirate Empress and the Snake Princess, is the empress of the Kuja who live on Amazon Lily in the Calm Belt. The Kuja are an incredibly powerful tribe all the members of which have a natural disposition to using Haki.
On Amazon Lily, strength is considered to be beauty, meaningBoa Hancock is the strongest and most beautiful of the lot. Hancock is an extremely special case as entire kingdoms are rarely known to be led by pirates; however, in the case of the Kuja Tribe, this has likely always been the case.
