Beetle Adventure Racingis, as its name suggests, a racing game themed entirely around the Volkswagen Beetle. It was developed by Paradigm Entertainment and EA Canada, with EA publishing the game in 1999. The game earned widespread critical acclaim at the time of its release and has an impressive 90 overall rating on review aggregate site Metacritic. This effectively makesBeetle Adventure Racingone of thehighest-rated games on the Nintendo 64, yet it never really seems to get the recognition it deserves, overshadowed by Nintendo 64’s heavy hitters and more popular racing games likeMario Kart 64andDiddy Kong Racing.
Beetle Adventure Racingwould be the perfect game to add to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, as it would give many more gamers the chance to try the unique racing game and see why it received so many high review scores back in 1999. So far, most of the Nintendo 64 games added to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack are titles that were hugely popular when they first launched, whereas the same can’t be said forBeetle Adventure Racing, which is another reason why it would be an exciting addition to the lineup.
