Kiriko has been a hugely popular character since she was released alongsideOverwatch 2, though persistent issues regarding one of her abilities is causing fans to be displaced beyond map boundaries. Fans have pointed out no end of bugs that seem to have crept intoOverwatch 2throughout the past few seasons, and Kiriko in particular has been experiencing countless issues relating to her self-teleporting Swift Step ability recently.

As one of the mostrecently-added support heroes inOverwatch 2, Kiriko is a versatile character who wields various magical abilities that can be used to aid teammates in battle. She strikes a good balance between healing and damage output thanks to her healing ofuda and throwable kunai which rewards precise players, though she can also use a powerful Protection Suzu to temporarily make allies immune to damage. Like the other Japanese heroes inOverwatch 2, Kiriko is capable of climbing over walls and obstacles, though she also has the ability to teleport directly to allied players, making for a good way of reaching teammates in distress, while also providing Kiriko with a reliable escape plan.

While her Swift Step ability didn’t seem to have many issues at first, recent seasons ofOverwatch 2have seen this ability become brokenin several ways due to bugs. Players have documented several issues with the ability previously, including the inability to teleport to tanks when crouched or to any teammates standing on uneven or moving ground. The problems don’t end there though, as one fan on Reddit named jcts0407 recently posted a clip showing them teleporting directly through the map floor when attempting to Swift Step to their tank. This placed them out of the map bounds, and subsequently resulted in them falling to their doom.

Blizzard had actually claimed to have fixed the problems affecting Kiriko’s movement ability back when Season 4 first released in April, though countless clips and complaints shared by theOverwatch 2community go to show that the teleportation ability is still far from bug-free. Kiriko certainly gets the short end of the stick when it comes to bugs, and while severalother heroes inOverwatch 2are suffering from issuesof their own, previous glitches have even been so severe that they resulted in certain heroes temporarily being removed from the game.

Therecently-released fifth season ofOverwatch 2has strived to squash many existing bugs, yet much of the new content it delivers seems to have allowed several new issues to creep in. From unsettling texture bugs that print odd patterns onto hero’s skins to a glitch that caused an entire map to be temporarily removed from circulation, it’s safe to say thatOverwatch 2still isn’t in the best of states, and Blizzard yet has a ways to go if they seek to deliver the smooth experience that fans are hoping for.

Overwatch 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
