Summary
APokemonfan took a trip to the beach, and built a Sandygast in the process, using the sand, a shovel, and some nearby seashells to create a small sand castle shaped after it. ThePokemonfan shared a picture of their Sandygast on social media, and other fans complimented them on their efforts.
Known as the Sand Heap Pokemon, Sandygast first appeared inPokemon Sun and Moon. Given that the Alola region is based on the real-world Hawaii, the seaside beaches are where Sandygast can be found throughout the seventh generation. Sandygast is a Ghost and Ground dual-type Pokemon, and it is stated to be the embodiment of the grudges of the dead. These ghostly grudges can then possess sand mounds and become Sandygast. Sandygast has also appeared inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, where it can be found along with its evolution Palossand.Sandygast evolves into Palossandat level 42.
Although Sandygast is notthe most powerful Ghost Pokemonout there, that did not stop onePokemonfan from paying tribute to it. A Redditor named BigFrumpy_ shared a picture of their hand-made Sandygast on the r/pokemon subreddit, which was taken during a beach trip. In the vertical screenshot taken, the Sandygast was made from a small pile of beach sand, with its head and mouth carved into the middle of the sand pile. Two smaller humps were then shaped to form Sandygast’s limbs, and its face was then indented to make room for its eyes. BigFrumpy_ used two small seashells for Sandygast’s eyes and stuck a tiny red shovel on the top to match the Sand Heap Pokemon’s image. The Sandygast sand castle was placed in front of three beach chairs, which remained in the picture for scale.
Pokemon Fan Builds Sandygast Sand Castle
BigFrumpy_ jokingly responded to a comment that they used some bones as the base for the Sand Heap Pokemon’s body. In other comments, somePokemonfans complimented BigFrumpy_ for their creativity, while others pondered why they had not considered such an idea for Sandygast before. In another comment, BigFrumpy_ said his brother started “acting funny” after taking Sandygast’s shovel. The comment was a clever and joking nod tothe macabre Pokedex entriesfor Sandygast and Palossand, with the latter said to pull its victims under the sand to steal their souls, making an encounter with one a risky endeavor.
With the summer underway,Pokemonfans who hit the beach can draw inspiration from BigFrumpy_ and make their ownSandygast or Palossandcastles. What fans will think of next remains to be seen.
