Summary
A skilledPokemonfan has just designed Paradox forms for both Diglett and Dugtrio, giving the two Ground-type monsters unique versions that reimagine them as creatures from the past and the future.Pokemon Scarlet and Violethave inspired countless fans in making all sorts ofParadox forms for Pokemon, and this artist was able to create pretty distinctive ones.
The newest mainlinePokemongames were a hit. So far,ScarletandVioletsold over 22.66 million copies, becoming the fourth most sold entries in the franchise, just behind the classicGold andSilverfrom the second generation. Two of the most memorable aspects of these games were the fully open world experience, as well as the Paradox Pokemon, which were both ancient and futuristic forms of normal creatures that were featured as bosses, and often used as inspiration for Pokemon fan art by the community.

Now, thePokemon Scarlet and Violetfan JJonnie designed two amazing Paradox Pokemon: a past version of Dugtrio called Mighty Roots, and a futuristic Diglett named Iron Vessel. Mighty Roots, for instance, is a Ground/Grass-type, and its design imagines how a root-inspired Dugtrio would look if the heads above the ground were just the tip of a huge wooden body. Iron Vessel, on the other hand, is clearly inspired by Buzz Lightyear and puts Diglett inside a cool-looking futuristic armor. In both cases, the artist was able to give these creatures a unique twist while still being able to retain a likeness to their original design. Each form also gets a special attack, with Mighty Roots gaining Jungle Trap, which is a multi-turn attack, and Iron Vessel scoring the powerful Whirl Punch, which causes the adversary to switch Pokemon automatically.
This is not the first Paradox form that JJonnie created, though. Some days ago, the artist revealedtwo Paradox forms for Eeveecalled Hidden Sun and Iron Palette. In these fan-made designs, Eevee either gets turned into a panther-like version that slightly resembles Umbreon, but with a glowing sun in its head, or into a futuristic-looking creature, which is essentially a robotic Eevee.
Due to its simple appearance, Diglett is perfect for fan art, as it’s easy to create amazing designs using it. For example, aPokemonfan createdGhost/Ground-type regional fake variants of Diggletlast year. This artist made a design inspired by Halloween in which the two Pokemon are replaced by morbid tombstones, which is a nice twist.
