Each of the many starters introduced over the variousPokemontitles typically sport an adorable and friendly look to them at first, though their appearances see big changes as they evolve and gain substantial increases in power.

Fans have shown off countless pieces of heartwarming artwork over the years featuring cute new designs for their favorite starters, ranging from Paradox variants to starter redesigns based on different types altogether. More recently, one talented fan artist known by the community as Random_Stealth_Ward has drawn thestarters ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, Sprigatito, Quaxly, and Fuecoco, wearing costumes that depict their final evolutionary stages. This isn’t the first time fans have blended together the different designs of a Pokemon’s various evolutionary forms, and even the officialPokemonanime has featured the Pokemon Rowlet dressed up as its final evolutionary form, Decidueye.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, while suffering a particularly controversial launch, has nonetheless done well in introducing new Pokemon for fans to meet. The many new Pokemon found in the Paldea region have finally pushed the total number of distinct Pokemon species to over 1,000, and the recently-released The Teal Mask DLC brings in more still. Many players have fallen in love with the amusing designs of Pokemon such as Clodsire and Fuecoco, and the introduction ofthe mysterious Paradox Pokemonhave played a big part in making the Gen 9 games so successful when it comes to innovating new Pokemon designs.
The plethora ofnew Pokemon seen in the Generation 9 titleshave done much to inspire creativity among fans as well, with the community sharing a seemingly endless amount of artwork based on the new designs. Though part one of the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC was only recently released, players will still have more new Pokemon to catch, characters to meet, and places to visit in part two as well, withPokemon’s The Indigo Disk DLC slated to release later this year.
