Pokemon Scarlet and Violetis an immersive open-world game. Players can take three main pathlines: Gym Challenges, defeating Titan Pokemon, and taking down Team Star - this generation’s group of troublemakers - Hideouts. But, of course, all of thisstarts at the Academy.
Depending on which version players have, they will attend Naranja (Scarlet) or Uva Academy (Violet) as a student and aspiring Pokemon trainers. The main differences are the school colors and the name; each Academy has the same teachers and classes and the same Director. The Academy is the game’s primary starting point and hosts many interesting characters and side quests. The classes could be considered side quests as they are not necessary to beat the main storyline, but there are some excellent rewards worth working towards. This guide covers academy classes, the answers to midterms and finals, rewards, and teacher relationship awards inPokemon Scarlet and Violet.

What Are Academy Classes
Whenever visiting the frontentrance of the Academy, there is a front help desk. Here, players can request which classes they would like to take. The courses include Biology, Math, Battle Studies, History, Art, Language, and Home Economics. In addition, each class has a room and teacher that players can visit outside class hours.
Classes are essentially interactive cut scenes. During each one, the teacher will explain a gameplay feature or fun fact about the Pokemon and surrounding region. There will also be a chance for players to answer one multi-choice question, although the answers to these questions do not seem to affect the gameplay. Each class meets six times and has a midterm and final. These will not be available initially, and players must progress inthe Victory Road Challengeto unlock more classes. Furthermore, Art and Language will be available after beating the first Gym.
Whenever players reach the halfway point of the Gym Challenge (3rd badge), they can take all 3 of the first classes and then the midterm. The other courses and finals will open once trainers have their 7th badge.
Exam Answers and Rewards
Midterms and finals will each include five questions covering the content discussed in class. They will all be multiple-choice and relatively simple, but we have them here if players need help remembering the answers.

Players will only get one chance to pass their exams; once their answer is chosen, they cannot change it. Passing the midterm requires 3/5 questions to be answered correctly, and the final requires 4/5 correct answers. For each one passed, players will get 5 Exp. Candies;Exp. Candy S (Small) for midtermsandExp. Candy M (Medium) for finals. These can beused to level up Pokemonwithout having to battle.
Teacher Relationships and Awards
Every time players attend a class; they unlock a new interaction with their teachers and other important people at the Academy. These interactions consist of conversations or small side quests and result in a closer relationship with said teacher. This is a fun way to add depth to themany NPCs in the game. Accessing these interactions can be done from one of the small screen devices at the front entrance of the Academy. The room or area will be marked an “!” whenever available, so trainers will know which ones are ready. In addition, each teacher will have specific actions that unlock their rewards. The below chart outlines each NPC, their quests, and the reward given after completion.
