Pokemon Sword and Shieldintroduced a ton of new Pokemon just like every generation before it. As usual, thesePokemon all have shiny formsthat change their appearance in minor ways but signify rarity above all else. Redditor Narilicious has taken some of these shiny forms and revamped them with new color palettes.

Shiny Pokemon have been desired byPokemonplayers long beforePokemon Sword and Shieldregardless of what their colors are, but having a Pokemon with a cool shiny form is always a plus. Along the same vein, it can be disappointing when a really cool Pokemon’s shiny form is somewhat lame, and that’s when artists like Narilicious come in.

Each of the Pokemon below were drawn by Narilicious and given a brand new color palette for afan-made custom shiny form, and fans seem to be loving it. The post has since been showered in awards and continues to grow in popularity as people admire the artist’s inspired designs.

In general, Narilicious goes for darker tones when designing these shiny Pokemon, a notable contrast from the typically brightly colored shiny Pokemon within the game already. Commenters particularly seem to enjoy Alcremie’s alternate shiny form, playfully arguing over whether or not it looks more like Cheese Whiz, some kind of Frozen Custard, or even Honey. Likewise,Toxtricity’s design stands outas well, with some in the comments noting that there aren’t a lot of shiny Pokemon with black coloration despite it being a really cool look for a lot of Pokemon.

Copperajah’s alternate shiny form is another example of one that seems to have caught fans' eyes. Most considerCopperajah’s actual shiny formto be somewhat lack luster, as it simply takes the colors already found on the Pokemon and dulls them out a bit. In this case, the opposite was done, and everything is made much bolder. All of the designs are pretty cool, but these ones seem to stand out the most. Of course, everyone has their own opinion on the designs, but the consensus seems to be that many of these are actually better than the original shiny forms.

There are some reallyincredible Pokemon shiny formswithin the over 1000 different Pokemon that have been created across the eight generations of games, but for each one that is awesome there seems to be a lackluster one too. It’s understandable that with so many to design, they wouldn’t all be perfect especially considering how subjective it is, but redesigns like this are always fun to look at.
