Although Ubisoft has numerous major titles releasing every single year from the likes of theAssassin’s Creed, Far Cry,andWatch Dogsfranchises, it seems a lot of the publisher’s biggest fans have been desperately yearning forPrince of Persiato see some form of a return. Luckily for the franchise’s fans, new rumors seem to indicate that plans could be in the works to return to the series, however, it’s worth taking these supposed leaks with a grain of salt.

With rumors surfacing on both Reddit and ResetEra, it seems rumors are pegging some form of a remake for thePrince of Persiafranchise to be on the way, with the original claims stating each of the three games in the original trilogy will be remade for modern consoles. This is supposedly due to Ubisoft wanting to listen to its fans following the icy reception of games likeGhost ReconandFar Cry: New Dawn, with the leak showing two photographs as well as claiming the remake will launch at the tail-end of this year.

However, two notable leakers by the names of Zhuge and Shinobi have since chimed in on the supposed remake, with their comments stirring the rumor mill even further. Taking to ResetEra, Zhuge claimed that “There isn’t a PoP trilogy remake,” seemingly shutting down any and all further debate about whether the game truly existed. That was, however, until Shinobi responded to a fan looking to confirm the rumor was definitely fake, with the leaker simply stating “In some ways.” Naturally, this has led many fans on ResetEra and Reddit to speculate about what this could mean, with many believing that the tease could indicate that, while no officialPrince of Persiatrilogyremake is in the works, something else might be.

Many users seem to be positing that the project could, in fact, be aPrince of Persia: The Sands of Timeremake, with the two photos included in the leak seeming to center around the classic game. “I reckon it’s just a singular Sands of Time remake, so the rumors about the trilogy are bull, but their’s some truth to the SoT part,” claimed one Redditor, while another posted “Imo it’s not the sands of time trilogy remake, it’s a remake of a single game, THE sands of time.”

Zhuge and Shinobi’s comments are definitely up to interpretation, however, the claims have led many to get excited about a potential return to the series. Hopefully, whatever the title turns out to be, it can live up to fans' lofty expectations anddeliver aPrince of Persiatitle worthy of the series' enduring legacy.
