There’s a lot to do inRed Dead Online, whether gamers are playing alone or with a posse of friends. However, in an open world game likeRed Dead Online, there’s also plenty of players who come up with their own games and activities to participate in.
As far as fan-planned activities go, this is likely one of the stranger ones to grace theold west game. A group of players teamed up to perform a trust fall of sorts, but with extremely dangerous consequences for failure.

Red Dead Onlineplayer eXaR_N7 shared a brief video of the event with fellow players on theRed Dead Redemptionsubreddit. In it, a large group of players can be seen standing in two rows on top of one of the game’s railway overpasses. The players in farther back row are allpreparing their lassos, while the group in front gets ready to jump. Plummeting to the water below will mean certain death, but the idea is to catch the player with the lasso and save them.
The results of the video are quite funny, as several of the players are missed by the lassos entirely, while others are caught but end up falling to their doom anyway. This includes eXaR_N7, who is successfully lassoed by the player behind them, but after dangling for a moment, the lasso breaks loose and they fall to the river below, dying on impact.
This isn’t a common activity in the game, but players have been forced to come up with their own ideas on keeping the game fresh sinceRed Dead Onlinehas lost major update support from Rockstar Games. Several fellow players noted the similarity toRed Dead Redemption 2’s Chelonians, who are an in-game cultist group that are known to participate in their own leap of faith which always ends in disaster.
While the results may or may not be what the players were hoping for, it’s certainly a funny clip, and one that needed a lot of work and coordination to pull off. eXaR_N7 noted that prior to their shared attempt, the group had another try ruined when a train came along, killing most of the players in the process.
Groups ofRed Dead Onlineplayers coming up with activities like this show that there’s still many people who wouldlove to see support continued forRed Dead Online. Unfortunately, Rockstar appears to have entirely shifted its focus toGTA Onlineand the development ofGTA 6. For the forseeable future,RDOplayers will just have to keep making their own fun.
Red Dead Onlineis available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
