When a video game is close to turning four years old, it is quite amazing to see reports of it still generating massive sales. Given howaward-winning theRed Dead Redemptionseriesis, there is no surprise for Take-Two Interactive to report thatRed Dead Redemption 2has already reached an incredible sales milestone. In its recent financial report,RDR2has already breached 43 million copies sold worldwide.
Though many in theplayer base seems to have shifted toRed Dead Online, there is still a good chunk of the community who still enjoys replayingRed Dead Redemption 2. Despite Rockstar Games not providing any more updates for the title since its PC release, fans make do with user-generated content such as mods. It is likely that players prefer this, given how much freedom they can get when adventuring through thebeautiful settings ofRDR2. There are more options in point-of-view, visuals, gameplay, and more, which is why fans cannot seem to stop playing the video game.

In Take-Two Interactive’s February 2022 financial report, theRed Dead Redemptionserieswas highlighted in a dedicated slide. The company stated that the action-adventure series has sold over 65 million units around the world, whileRed Dead Redemption 2has reported to have reached 43 million units sold. The prequel title is also leading the pack in terms of profit, as the retail report shows it is the 2nd-best selling title in the United States in the last three years. This is likely due to how active the currentRDR2fanbase is.
Take-Two Interactive also highlighted the already announced titles it is launching in the next few years, which includes titles forBorderlandsandGrand Theft Auto. However, no details were shared about theRed Dead Redemptionseries. This can mean that Rockstar Games may not be focusing its efforts on developing on anotherRDRtitle, or does not have official plans to port any of theRed Dead Redemptiongames onto the Nintendo Switchfor now. Though this may come as a disappointment to the fanbase, Rockstar Games is known for taking its sweet time in developing its titles, so that much is already likely expected.
Nevertheless, Take-Two’s report aboutRed Dead Redemption 2is still very good news for the game’s community. Positive sales reports are likely a great incentive for the devs to finally consider focusing their attention onRDR. Hopefully Rockstar Games will provide more updates once all itsGTAtitles launch this 2022.
Red Dead Redemption 2is now available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
