TheResident Evil 4Remakebrings new optional side quests calledMerchant Requests. They usually require players to thoroughly inspect an area tofind and destroy blue medallions.Completing these requests and turning them in at a Merchant Shop rewards Leon with a currency called Spinels. Spinels can be traded at shops for valuable items. Certain items, such as attache case colors and weapon attachments, can only be acquired this way. It’s a good idea to complete a request as soon as possible, as some areas are hard to backtrack to. Players can use this guide todestroy all five medallions located at the Cliffside Ruins.

The request file can be found next to theentrance to the Specimen Storage in Chapter 15. Picking up the file will mark the general area of the medallions on the map. The cliffside ruins are accessible after the lengthy segment whereLeon receives aid from the helicopter.Take care of the medallions before entering the Specimen Storage area ahead.
Blue Medallion #1
The first medallion is located high up in a tower above the Specimen Storage building. Walk away from the entrance and turn to see it. Use a scoped weapon to destroy it.
Blue Medallion #2
Walk further down the path away from Specimen Storage. Look to the right of the path to find the second medallion on side of the building among the scaffolding.
Blue Medallion #3
Continue further down the path to the front of this building whereMike and the helicopterwere attacked by insect enemies. The third medallion is hanging near the ladder that leads under the building.
Blue Medallion #4
Use the ladder to drop underneath the building. Continue down the path to find a chest containing the Staff of Royalty Treasure.
Face away from the treasure to find the fourth medallion hanging from a half-broken archway.
Blue Medallion #5
The final medallion can be tricky to spot. Move forward from the treasure and look out through the collapsed wall to the ocean. The medallion is hanging underneath a rock formation. The wind will blow the medallion back and forth, making it barely visible as it swings towards the sea. Wait until the blue of the medallion is showing to take the shot. With all the medallions destroyed, players must complete the Specimen Storage area to turn in therequest at a merchantfor five spinels.
