As the final boss of the four Lords inResident Evil Village, Heisenberg has been plaguing Ethan Winters since well before their final showdown. The list of offenses is staggering: Impaling him with a copper rod, setting his zombie horde on him, lowering spikes on his head, throwing him into a pit with a monster, and there are even more egregious violations but there’s no need to spoil them here.

Suffice it to say that Heisenberg has it coming. But revenge is not going to be easy. He’s able to move metal and stones with his mind. Plus, he’s upgraded his hardware since the last visit with him. Apparently, he knew that a gigantic hammer wasn’t going to be enough. So brace for a fight that will literally blow players sky-high.

A word of caution: Fighting Heisenberg triggers a series of events that will result in the end of the game;do not fight Heisenberg until getting every desired secret knocked out first.

Resident Evil Village Chris Showing Ethan How To Fire The Makeshift Tank

Learn The Ropes Of The Makeshift Tank

Just before fighting the man himself, Chris will show Ethan how to fire the tank (and blow the gate down in the process). The tank itself looks like something between a snowmobile, tractor, and war machine. Sadly, that chainsaw up front is purely for decoration.

However, there are two firing modes that players should know about before doing battle with Heisenberg. The machine gun will do lots of rapid-fire damage; it has an unending supply of ammunition and doesn’t overheat like many other turrets in gaming, so players should be firing this whenever the cannon is cooling down.

The cannon is the star of the show, doing loads of absurd damage at a precise location. Unlike the machine gun, it does need time to refresh in between shells. This should be used at specific points during the fight when Heisenberg is either vulnerable or about to attack.

Perhaps most importantly,it has a guard mode to reduce damage, just like the damage reduction while blocking while on foot. This will come in handy during the fight with Heisenberg as the tank is not mobile enough to dodge every single incoming shot.

Stage One Of The Fight

Roll into the elevator and head to the top. After blasting down the gate, Heisenberg will pop out of the sky and crash to the ground in a mech made of scrap metal. At this point, begin firing at him with the machine gun. He’s most vulnerable in the “head” area as that’s where Heisenberg himself has contained his body.

Though it is tempting to fire off the cannon right now, he’s very mobile and not easy to hit. Plus, he will soon enter an attack mode that will be needed to be guarded in the cannon is on cooldown, and this will do substantial damage to Ethan even with a full block.

Resident Evil Village Blasting Open The Gate To Heisenberg

When he raises a circular saw in the air and starts steadily approaching, blast him with the cannon. This will send him flying to the back of the gates and interrupt the attack. Then resume shooting him with the machine gun. He will continue this pattern until taking a certain amount of damage.

At some point, Heisenberg will see this is a losing battle for him and play defensively. He’ll attempt to hide within a bunch of planks, butthere will always be a hole that leaves him exposed during this phase. After taking enough damage, he will drop his defenses and Ethan will get several free seconds to unleash a full barrage against him.

Phase Two of The Fight

At the start of the next phase, Heisenberg will pull Ethan in and lift him over his head. Unfortunately for him, he does so by keeping the cannon aimed right at his own head.Fire the cannon when he lifts Ethan up. This will, unfortunately, destroy the makeshift tank and now it’s time to go one-on-one with Heisenberg on foot.

Heisenberg’s move set is a slower version of phase one but largely similar.Never run backward when dodging Heisenberg’s charge. He has enough speed to catch Ethan on foot. Instead, move left or right when he approachesto force him into a swing and a miss.

Resident Evil Village Ideal Time To Use The Cannon Against Heisenberg

Odds are pretty good that no weapon is going to match the damage of the tank’s cannon, but this is the time to spend some charges from the grenade launcher, sniper rifle, or revolver for those who have one.Weapons that do large bursts will interrupt his attacks, just like the cannon from the old tank.

On higher difficulties, thanks to a larger life pool, this can drain tons of ammunition from even the most prepared players. Do not worry, the debris and crates around this arena have ammunition inside to help Ethan go the distance in this marathon of a fight.

Resident Evil Village Shooting Through The Hole In Heisenberg’s Defenses

During the final phase of the fight, Heisenberg will once again pull everything in. Unlike last time, without a tank, he’ll toss Ethan into the atmosphere along with all of the other scrap metal. This is unavoidable, but it will trigger a cutscene where Ethan finds his old makeshift tank and fires a final cannon shot right into the weakest point of the mech.

There are a lot of zombies in theResident Evilseries, but with an explosion like that, it’s safe to say that Heisenberg’s future within the franchise is very much in doubt.
