Summary

There are rumors that some of the original cast members ofFantastic Four(2005), including Jessica Alba and Chris Evans, will appear inDeadpool & Wolverine.

Marvel is reportedly focused on only releasing movies that are sure hits for fans, so they are picky when it comes to the franchises that they want to continue. Among the films that are getting another sequel is Ryan Reynold’sDeadpooland it has already stirred a lot of excitement because the famous anti-hero will be joined by a host of popular superhero actors. For instance, Hugh Jackman, who announced in 2015 that the 2017 filmLogan, would be his last film as Wolverine, would star opposite Reynolds to reprise his superhero role. That’s not all, aside from Jackman, more familiar faces are expected to join the duo inDeadpool & Wolverine. There are rumors that Alba and Evans will also join the cast to reprise their roles inFantastic Fouras Invisible Woman and Human Torch, respectively.

Sue and Johnny Storm will reportedly appear in Deadpool 3

Insider Caleb Williams seemingly confirmed Alba’s return to reprise her role as Sue Storm, aka Invisible Woman, inDeadpool & Wolverine. He made the tweet in response to another post on X, formerly Twitter, announcing that Alba and Chris Evans would appear in the film. Evans, who became popular as Captain America, played Johnny Storm, aka Human Torch, in twoFantastic Fourmovies years before he becamethe Star-Spangled Avenger. Johnny is Sue’s little brother in Marvel’s first family, so the announcement about Evans and Alba’s return makes sense because both play as siblings inFantastic Four (2005)andFantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer(2007). They also voiced their character in theFantastic Fourvideo game. However, Williams did not confirm Evans' appearance and only talked about Alba. He tweeted:

Although there was no confirmation about Evans' return, Williams seemingly doubled down on theFantastic Four’spresence inDeadpool & Wolverinebecause he mentioned that John Krasinski would be playing Alba’s husband, Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, instead of Ioan Gruffudd, her original on-screen partner. According to ComicBookMovie.com, the possible reason Krasinski is replacing Gruffudd is due to scheduling conflicts or personal matters. Gruffudd is still in the midst of a messy divorce with his ex-wife, Alice Evans, and Marvel probably wants to play safe. Krasinski played Mr. Fantastic in the 2022 movieDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Many expected him to play the same role inMarvel’s upcomingFantastic Fourmovie, but in February, it was confirmed thatPedro Pascal was cast as Reed Richards.

While it’snot yet confirmedifthe Fantastic Foursuperheroes will make an appearance inDeadpool & Wolverine, their presence makes sense becausethe Merc with a Mouthhas several close encounters with the first family. Deadpool, known for his irreverent humor, fourth-wall-breaking antics, and chaotic nature, often finds himself entangled with various superheroes, including theFantastic Four. Due to their different demeanors — theFantastic Fourbeing more serious and having a more structured approach andDeadpool, being playful and unpredictable — their encounters have resulted in some entertaining and occasionally bizarre interactions, creating opportunities for comedic and action-packed storytelling.

Also, Alba’s return to the big screen as Invisible Woman via Ryan Reynolds' movie is not unlikely given that several other actors who have hung their superhero costumes for decades are making an appearance in the superhero flick, including Hugh Jackman (Logan/Wolverine) and Jennifer Garner (Elektra). There are also rumors thatX-Menstar Patrick Stewartwill return as Professor X and Josh Brolin as Cable.
