The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimplayers spend a lot of time in the game looting. While exploring the massive open world, they will find all kinds of armor, weapons, food, potions, books, and more that they may want to carry with them on their adventures. Unfortunately,Skyrimcharacters can only carry so much weight before they’ve hit their limit and become over-encumbered, making it impossible for them to run without dropping some of the items they’ve collected.
There are a variety of ways thatSkyrimplayers can avoid being over-encumbered or improve their situation if it happens to them. Besides simply dropping excess items,Skyrimplayers can drink potionsto temporarily increase their carry weight. They can also dump points into Stamina so their character can carry more items, and of course, they can always leave gear they’re not actively using in storage at their home.

Skyrimplayers can fast-travel while over-encumberedif they get on a horse, and doing so can help them get back to their house faster to drop off extra loot. But ifSkyrimplayers don’t want to part with excess loot, they can get creative, as shown in a video uploaded by Reddit user CarrBock.
In the video, theSkyrimplayer has seemingly dumped some of their extra items into a wagon, and they are pushing their wagon through the game’s open world.Skyrimhas a massive open world filled with mountainsand dangerous terrain, so this may not be an ideal solution for the long-term, but it’s something players may want to try nevertheless.
One of the main draws ofSkyrimis how it lets players be creative when it comes to exploring the world and overcoming its obstacles. This level of freedom extends to other areas of the game as well, like when it comes to creatingSkyrimcharacters. One player even managed to make aSkyrimThor character buildwithout using any mods thanks to the different items that they were able to obtain in just the vanilla game.
The vanilla version ofSkyrimis stuffed with content that will keep players busy for hundreds, if not thousands of hours, but players can expand the game even further with mods. There are a ton ofSkyrimmodsout there, some of which can go a long way in extending one’s time with the game even further. It will be interesting to see if future Bethesda projects like the upcomingStarfieldoffer the same level of freedom thatSkyrimbrings to the table, with or without mods.
